Should Dean Hammond remain team captain for this season in the championship.

we are on a 6 match winning run so why should we change things?

Will Deano play regularly next season and should the captaincy go to someone with more championship experiance eg Fonte/ spiderman

Should someone like Lallana be rewarded for loyalty/performance and given captaincy.

interested to know who you think should be captain
 
If he continues to play regularly then I think Hammond should remain captain. If not, I'd probably give it to Lambert, Davis or Fonte.
 
It aint broke, don't fix it. Hammond isn't the most gifted player, but he's been a very effective captain, driving the team forward. If I were pressed to change it though, I'd give it to Fonte.
 
Lallana for captain? Are you serious? I'm not sure if Hammond is going to have as big a part to play in our Championship season, I like him and rate him as a player but I think we can form a stronger centre midfield partnership even with what we have now.

Only one player to be captain IF Hammond loses the armband and that's Jose Fonte. He is a fan favourite hence the Saints Player Of The Year award, he carried us over the finish line last season, he has Championship experience. No brainer.
 
definitely give the armband to fonte if we dont intend to p;ay hammond much
 
How important is a football captain? It's not like a cricket captain who runs the show. You select a player who is respected, can understand and pass on instructions and who will play in most games. Some players are distracted by captaincy...hands up anyone who wants Fonte to be distracted.

i think CB's make good captains.

You dont have to be the oldest in the team or the most experianced. England took a chance on Becks and it paid off. Maybe not so silly to suggest Lallana
 
I would like to see Fonte as Captain - Deano was AP's choice; its a new season and a new league and we should be looking forward...
 
Would have Hammond if he played not the best player but the best captain, I understand peoples desire to have fonte he is ideal but you've got to think about language, I know he's been in England for a while but is his knowledge of the English language THAT good?

But some players excel as captain. If you pick someone who is particularly indispensable and influential then it can really improve the team. Beckham would be the perfect example of this.
 
Hammond gets loads of stick, bit I like him. he isn't creative or a top goalscorer but he does loads of dirty work. Without the likes of Hammond in a team the flair players wouldn't get given the ball to do their magic. If he is picked by Nigel then keep him captain.

Anyone heard of a bloke called Nobby Styles? He wasn't the best, but quite important in 66
