Didn't say that did I?

If you go on another club's forum and start giving your "opinion" about how their star players have already been sold and about what you expect the agreed price will be, you can expect pretty short shrift.

I didn't really think it was necessary PTF. He actually gave us some decent info on the journalists who are allegedly ITK at LFC, which is always useful. He was hardly being aggressive and sometimes it is good to have discussions with the other fans. He gave us his opinion.

By the way, I couldn't follow your links to their board yesterday as they were broken, so didn't get to read what you wrote there.

Yes, he gave us good information about journalists who might be able to provide information, and then proceeded to ignore his own advice and give us a number that he pulled out of his backside. Sorry but I'm getting a bit tired of Liverpool fans coming on here and giving us their dogma.

I did fix the links yesterday but maybe you didn't see. Here's a link to that post: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-for-Lallana?p=6489534&viewfull=1#post6489534

Just read that PTF; it's very good. What surprised me is that you gave a reasoned view with 'possibilities' considered. It seems that when you have responded on our board on this topic, it has been with an adamant, exact and definitive tone, with little room for flexibility on the opposing view.

I genuinely thought you had your head in the sand. Clearly not and that is a well written response to the Liverpool fans and sums up the situation pretty well. You may even have kidded them into thinking we have some decent fans

That's the clearest account I've given of my opinion on the subject, perhaps in trying to combat some of the (what I perceive as) unwarranted negativity on here I go too far in the other direction sometimes.

If Adam does go, it gives a great opportunity to Gaston to step up and be the main man. Him playing behind Rodriguez could be a bit tasty. Would need a couple of wide players though!

Either it's what Liverpool are feeding them, or they have just inferred it from the fact we turned down the initial offer.

I'll be going with the latter. I'm not sure how Liverpool would know that Lallana intends to request a transfer.

And someone to play in place of Rodriguez until 2015. Agree it would be a real opportunity for Gaston to shine. Hopefully he can stay fit (the main problem he's had IMO) regardless of the outcome of this particular transfer saga and either push or replace Adam.

Strange isnt it how quickly things can change. At the start of the season several on here were questioning Adams ability to establish himself in the PL and there were concerns about his fitness. Now he's irreplaceable.

Adam is a player that I would love to keep, but we must remember that we have a very good side. A Lallana-lyte type of player plus another could be money well spent...which is why we have to get proper money for him...20 million (which = 15 million really) is rubbish. None of our players is essential as such, but we most keep the core of the squad together...mainly for footballing reasons but also to maintain public perception that we are a power to be reckoned with, even though Nicola has left. Too much appearance of weakness will affect our chances of signing players and increase the chances that the vultures will pick our bones.

The most obvious answer may be that his agent told them.

How much time can it take between deciding you want to hand in a transfer request and handing in a transfer request? Surely he'd hand in the request the day after he decides he wants to.

Well the report is only that he will need to, not that he has decided to do so. Even if you do believe the report.

Its a BS statement anyway. Doesn't matter whether Adam puts in a transfer request or not. If the club say they will only accept £30m+ then transfer request or no transfer request it will take a bid of £30m+ before the board will talk.

I'm not so sure that this statement is from the 'other side' or paper talk. It could well be a leak from our side basically putting the pressure on Adam to show his colours. i.e. Adam - You let the fans know whether your words this season meant anything.

If he doesn't put a transfer request in and no sufficient bid comes in the board and Adam come off looking good with the fans.
If no transfer request comes in but a sufficient bid does then the board can at least use the value as reason why they sold.
If Adam puts a transfer request in then the pressure is off the board. A bid comes in that is sufficient and they say our hands were effectively tied and put the blame on Adam.
If the transfer request is put in yet a bid isn't sufficient the board come out smelling of roses for standing firm.
