Bit confused about the Liverpool fan's rant that they are bigger than Saints. Did anyone suggest otherwise? No? Anyone? Bueller? No.....thought not.

He was just trying to say money talks and that players want to better themselves. He just then got carried away saying Lallana would triple his wages overnight which is nowhere near the truth, and that no player would ever stay with a smaller club if given the chance to move 'up' the ladder.

I wonder, should we read anything into the fact that the Guardian has (if I remember correctly) been the initial source of both the "Saints reject Shaw bid" and this? Could be wrong on that, but I'm curious whether they may be getting this stuff straight from the source.

Guardian is the most reliable paper when it comes to transfer studies. For something to be printed by them it has to be backed by the very BEST and most stringent sources.

In this case the writer is Andy Hunter, a Everton fan btw, so he will have received this info straight from Ian Ayre's (the ceo) mouth.

It seems the leaks on this are coing frvm the Liverpool side. If you want to stay up to date with these 'leaks' you need to keep an eye out for the following Journalists. They'll have something in the next few days without doubt:

James Pearce (Liverpool Echo)
Andy Hunter (The Guardian)
Chris Bascombe (The Telegraph)
Tony Barrett (The Times)

and lesser so; Dominic King (Daily Mail - **** paper but he's in the loop RE: LFC)

These guys get briefed by the very top at LFC regularly off the record so you can pretty much trust that whatever they report is definitely what LFC have said - however that doesn't mean its impartial and totally true, LFC, like EVERY club, wi8ll leak stuff thats has their own slant on it obviously.

From my long experience the latest leak to Hunter at the GUardian is to put pressure on Lallana and his Agent and make them know if he wants his big move - which LFC are adamant he wants more than any other club - he's going to have to force it his end by telling Southampton he's "determined to leave to Liverpool this Summer and nobody else". Ayre will have, without doubt, told Lallana's Agent that the deadline for this to happen is the start of the World Cup (although I doubt Ayre will actually mean this).

This is more or less done now in my opinion and experience barring a sudden change of heart from the player. All thats happening now is haggling over the final fee, which will probably be agreed around £25m.

Garth Crooks is a prick....in his team of the season he refers to Adam Lalllana as the Liverpool winger......
:mad::mad::mad:

No he didn't. He was talking about Raheem Stirling.

"I must admit I had some difficulty leaving Raheem Sterling out of the line-up, but while the Liverpool winger did finish the season strongly, Lallana has been brilliant throughout."

The Guardian say it looks like Lallana will have to hand in a transfer request before Saints will sell.

Also being said Saints would then ask for £30m+.

Why should we roll over for our tummies tickled? Adam signed a five year contract...show him we want to keep him and then make him make the tough decision and be the bad guy. Also makes the board look stronger...and confirms we don't have to sell.

I want to be surprised! If Lallana does go, I want our board to pull off something good out of a terrible situation.

20 mil plus Borini. We get a very good play who plays in a similar position plus money in the bank.

You are suggesting that the Guardian, home of the feminista, is no longer the highly moral and responsible paper it used to be if the management of LFC can manipulate its reporters with biased facts to help the club to achieve its aims.

Sorry but your "opinion and experience" means diddly squat around here. Back it up with facts or don't bother.

Lallana is going to get shedloads of abuse if he pushes for the move after saying the things he has this season. They will seem like empty words and lies to most and I don't think many will be wishing him the best in that scenario. Will he care? Probably not.

He will be hoping the board accept a deal without him having to look the bad guy if he wants to go.

I am hoping that if all this is true, then he gets a touch of the Le Tissiers

We don't always have to have facts to express an opinion.

Didn't say that did I?

If you go on another club's forum and start giving your "opinion" about how their star players have already been sold and about what you expect the agreed price will be, you can expect pretty short shrift.
