I agree that it's far too early to start flying upset about why Arsenal haven't signed anyone yet, but I can see why people are miffed by the contradiction between Wenger's comments and the action seemingly already being taken by United, Liverpool and Chelsea. Then again, I think it's about time we learned that Wenger's comments and the realities behind the scenes needn't necessarily bear any resemblance; as far as we know, the team are working on transfer as we speak.
I hope this becomes reality http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-transfers-angel-di-maria-3535477? Imagine that....walcott on one side and and di maria on the other side.....
Di Maria would be an awesome signing, right up there with Ozil. I think somebody like Julian Draxler might be more realistic though, I'd be over the moon with either.
if that is the case then wait till last day of transfer window and have the biggest bitch fest of all time, starting with I told you so, or WTF AW why don't you buy anyone, or who the **** is this we have bought as i have never heard of him. until then don't bitch, just hold all the bile in, and then explode when its end of window. we will then all come back to forum and say you were right all along and we will never disbelieve you ever again, or disagree with whatever you say. of course you could like the rest of us look forward to Cup Final, the World Cup, the summer transfer window, exchange banter with fellow fans on the merits of new signings or the possibilities of signings, and then the new season starts.
Been watching the Germany-Poland game on BT sport, and Draxler has been abysmal. In fact, he had a pretty average season for Schalke. That £40 Mil asking price is looking pretty ridiculous now.
I can empathise with Han Shot First - hope I'm wrong, but I can't see any stellar signings being made, just more excuses........
Bit of a weak link but I do know someone who works for people at Arsenal, and he said all he hears from those he speaks to (at the club) that there has been much progress on transfer business already, possibly suggesting that deals were agreed in principal before the World Cup (even if confirmation isn't given until after the tournament). Apparently AW was very aware that Chelsea would be in the market for at least 1 striker which is why deal(s) were agreed in Jan. 'Could be an exciting Summer to be an Arsenal fan' was the parting comment made so hard not to be encouraged. I can't give you names because I haven't been given any....
I'm sorry i offended you sir, i'll behave better next time sir. Just **** off, i have a right to voice my opinion.
Di Maria is the top of my transfer wish list. He would be possibly the best signing we could make! He's world class, naturally plays wide and would be exactly what we need. I'd prefer him to Sanchez or draxler.
£40m was always a crazy price for Draxler, who is not yet the finished article. He's probably worth somewhere more like £25m. He's got the raw talent, speed and the ability to go past players as well as an eye for goal and a lethal shot. I think he would develop really well under Wenger at Arsenal
