Seen quite a few reports on Paulinho to us. I wanted him when he signed for Spurs, couldn't believe we didn't go for him. He's ace if used the right way, plenty of energy but so much better on the ball than Ramires. I hope this is true.
If it is between Paulinho and Vidal, the the latter for me. Both though would be unreal and give us so much energy in the middle of the park, but also players who are decent with the ball. Paulinho - Vidal - Matic would be really exciting.
Do you think Atletico potentially winning the CL could scupper your chances of getting Diego Costa, as surely they would get a massive financial boost if they could do it, so they may not have to sell there best players anymore
No they are pretty ****ed. It usually boils down to wages and how much we offer him. Unless a gangster threatens him a la Steve G, the Haunted One
Rumour has it that the Costa deal will be announced shortly after the Champions League final for 32m.
Here's hoping, need to avoid a summer like last year re strikers!! I think a few deals will be done quickly by the big clubs. Looks like the Southampton raid is underway as well.
As long as it's 32 million and not a 'silly' fee. Heard a rumour today he may sign an extension just so AM get a better deal. Seems unlikely as would no doubt cost him in some way (lower wages offer / signing fee etc) but a possibility I guess.
Costa seems like a Tevez type person, i.e. he'll work his socks off when playing regularly but ultimately money and success come first. Doubt he'd sign an extension if it meant he lost out in a new deal elsewhere!
Just hope he's as good as they say (and as his record this year suggests). Watch very little Spanish football and it's only really this year I've heard much about him. Where's he been the last 5 years? He also looked pretty average in the semis v us; in fact Torres looked the better striker with far less service!
tbf he's been at it for about 3 seasons now, but was just in the shadow of Falcao previously. I remember watching a few Atleti games with those two and they were brilliant together.
Costa for 32 million looking likely now and reported that Luiz could leave to Barca for similar money. Probably a good deal all round if true. I really like the lad but not sure he is cut out to be a consistent performer in the P.L where you are tested every week. He loses concentration often and that's difficult to compensate for in the P.L. Think he is ideal as a centre back for Barca and will do brilliant in la liga where his style is much more suited. We make a nice little profit on a player who has won 3 trophies with us and we can use the money to re-invest in a top class midfielder. Mikel will probably go as well and question marks over Frank's contract so definitely an area to strengthen. Kroos would be great but probably unlikely. What about a double raid at AM and go for Koke
A lot of rumours saying that Luiz has agreed a move to Barca and talks took place last night in London. I've also seen today that within the next two weeks we're bidding for Barkley.
Can Barkley play the deep lying role, if not maybe Jose will mould Oscar into that position. Ivan Rakitic Luka Modric Koke Axel Witsel Daniele De Rossi Toni Kroos Cesc Fabregas Ilkay Gundogan And here is one that is underated in my opinion . . . . . Ki Sung Yeung, has very good passing stats and assists over the last two seasons and would be a very cut-price option, would for me be an improvement on Mikel.
Todays Chelsea Transfer News Bayern Munich and Chelsea in talks over a deal that could see David Luiz join the Bundesliga team for 15m plus Mario Mandzukic (Mirror) Chelsea have been linked with Sevilla skipper Ivan Rakitic, who has only one year left on his contract, although Sevilla remain confident of tying him down to a longer deal (Talksport) Liverpool are trying to negotiate a deal for Thorgarn Hazard, although Chelsea want to send him out on loan to Everto (Metro) But another source claims Thorgarn will be on Chelsea's pre-season tour after Jose Mourinho watched him against Anderlecht last week (Daily Mail)
Cant see any of those 4 happening to be honest. Except maybe the second. Luiz will go Spain if he leaves imo. And no way are we selling Thorgan Hazard.
The Mandzukic one seems bollox to me. He's worth nowhere near 45-50 million assuming Luiz is upwards of 35 million. Hazard junior needs a year in a more competitive league. He's done well so far but its the Belgium league. Germany would suit him but ideally a prem loan. Everton looks a good bet especially for a first refusal on Barkley .
Agreed. We should be keeping Lukaku and buying Costa. Looks like Torres will be staying too (ffs). I would love to go for Barkley if Oscar leaves, be brilliant to have him playing behind Costa alongside Schurrle and Hazard - mouthwatering!
