The Official Off-Topic Chat Thread currently known as "Hooiveld's Hangout" Formerly Guly's Joint Gaff, and was known as Krueger's Korner. Was Liebherr's Corner, formerly Cortese's Corner. The original name of Beefy's Corner, is being replaced on an occasional basis. Next time, who knows..? Could be anyone. Could even be my corner or yours.

Firstly, the normal rules of the site apply. You cannot start a discussion about contentious issues, Politics, Religion, or show Porn, etc... The flip side of this arrangement is that there will be a much stricter enforcement of the "no going off topic" rule which has always been the case anyway, on the other threads.

Secondly, the normal rules of the Saints board will apply, (except that you can go off-topic obviously). This is not going to become a "private GC Lite." Personal insults will not be tolerated, and neither will goading someone to draw them out. The whole tone of this board has suffered in the past as differing views have been aired and there have been far too many angry exchanges. Vitriolic exchanges are not welcome and will be dealt with as appropriate. If you have fallen out with a poster put him on your ignore list and don't rise to the bait!
If you see content which is not appropriate, please send the mods a PM rather than fronting up the poster and let us deal with it to save a bun-fight. Lastly, if a thread is closed or deleted by one of the Mods, and you have some good reason that it should reopen, then send us a PM with your reasons. Simply re-posting the same thread again to be confrontational would be considered very provocative and would probably lead to action being taken.

It would seem that large numbers of posts and subjects causes problems for mobile phone users to access this site. So from time to time it will be necessary to close the threads down and start a new one. Approximately every 1000 posts or so.

Messages that are purely designed to increase a post count will be deleted.

I had a dream that I was out having a tea and digestive biscuit (not McVitie's, they didn't have any!?) with Kreuger, but he wouldn't tell me anything. I mean for ****'s sake...it was my dream and he wouldn't tell me anything!!!!

I know some of you guys enjoy a little bit of culture and as it would be Dylan Thomas's 100th birthday this year had he lived you might enjoy this production of "Under Milk Wood" shown on BBC Wales this week.

It is amongst the best I have heard and some really great stars including some popular with young people.

I'll have to take a viewing of that. One of my favourite "Thomas's" is RS Thomas as he wrote one of my favourite poems, "Death of a Peasant"

This is a week old, so may have been posted and apologies if it was and I missed it. This is a fabulous 'spoof' advert. I don't know if it is genuine, but if it is then Premier Inn and Lenny Henry deserve an award...

I like the comments.

"A film festival without a cinema is like a resident whom is head of the European Foreign Office, without a mandate. Ukip please."

Haha, that's Baroness Ashton, never mind that she's one of the most successful female politicians on the planet who isn't called Merkel...or the Queen...and pretty much front and centre of sorting out Egypt, Libya, Iran, Kosovo, Ukraine etc, when did we ever vote for her!!

Off to the Great Escape Festival in Brighton today. If you're a fan of discovering new(ish) music and seeing the hot bands of the moment, it really is well worth getting along to.

I actually had plans to go along to that a couple of years ago. Never happened for whatever reason but yeah.

I'm putting this here too incase people miss it in whatever other thread I put it in.

Apologies it is football... sort off

I love J League free kick routines, but I saw one a few years ago where 10 players run over it. And they were coming from different angles.
