Looks like from Wenger's comments, Sagna is definitely leaving. We need an RB, we can't go into next season with Jenkinson as the starter.
I agree no way to Remy. But Wiltord was very decent player for us as was Reyes, but he chose to **** off coz he didn't like the **** weather.

I think Remy is alright actually. This season could have been very different if we'd had a second striker to share the burden with Ollie. He's a very different player obviously so would have been nice to have a plan B. Clearly I want us to sign a top top forward but I'd be surprised if we did. This has Wenger written all over it.
Yeah both Wiltord and Reyes were decent players as was Gervinho (just look at him in Italy) but they were never World Class. They were either good options on the wing or backups to Thierry/RVP. To win the league with an attacking system you need a World Class striker.
Hearing rumours that Arsenal are looking towards Wilfried Bony for next season. Anything in this? Or just end of season talk? I'd really hate to see him go but it he gets a great offer and European football who could blame him? If he does leave us he'll have to have regular football to get the best from him.
I'd happily take either Bony or Remy as back up forward, as long as we get someone top quality in as well. Problem is, if we get either of them, we will have Giroud, "them", Sanogo and Podolski and Walcott who can play up front. That makes it a bit difficult to fit in a top quality forward as well.
CaughtOffside (AKA the world's worst source) has us linked with Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton. Would be an ok signing i guess, at least Soton players will be cheaper now Cortese has gone.
Ideally we'd be looking to sign somebody like Costa, Mandzukic or Cavani but the problem is that the specialist in failure has been slagging off his strikers and has now come out and said that Chelsea need to sign a top quality CF and that will push the price for these players sky high this summer. Ultimately, we might end up signing a player like Bony or Lukaku as a back up to Giroud. For all the hate towards him he's still scored 22 goals so far this season and whatever the doom mongers say, he does hold the ball up and bring other players into play which creates more goals for the team. You only have to look at the goals that Ramsey, Rosicky, Wilshere etc have scored this season and Giroud is involved in nearly all of them. He does lack that killer finish against the top teams, but overall he's a good player. If we get priced out of signing the top CFs then I'd like to see Wenger sign a striker in the next tier and a top quality player like Draxler, who has that killer finish and could be converted into a CF.
If we signed Bony, he'd probably start over Giroud, he can do that hold up play shtick, but has some pace too. Shame he's not a great finisher...
Giroud is still the better player for me, but I wouldn't be gutted to sign Bony as long as we also signed Draxler / Di Maria or a top quality attacking winger. The doubt I have with Bony is twofold 1. Can he improve on this season ? and 2. Can he make the step up to a big club like Arsenal ?
My hope is that we sign Mandzukic. I think the specialist in failure will pay over the odds for Costa, but Mandzukic would fit into our team well and would be an upgrade on Giroud. He can also hold the ball up and bring our attacking MF players into dangerous positions. He also works his socks off for Bayern.
The two strongest rumours around are Carlos Vela and Micah Richards. All the Vela noise is coming from his agent but Vela himself has said he'll be leaving Spain this Summer....
I think it's safe to say if Richards is replacing Sagna, then Carl Jenkinson will be getting a lot of games....
I've always rated Richards, he's just been a victim of the chequebook approach at City in recent seasons for me, still a decent player assuming his absence hasn't taken the edge off him. Only a year left on his contract and proven at the top level, £7-8m might net him....
I was more going on the fact that Richards is ridiculously injury prone, and that's before he joins us. With our medical team, he'd probably die 2 weeks into the new season
