Just skulked back on. I am pleased you ran that post I did because it illustrated just how I felt at the time following our defeat by WHU and letting City off the hook with a mistake ahead of the upcoming game at Chelsea. I did make the comparison to our relegation in 1958 because this season's circumstances paralleled them. That year we went down on goal average (divide goals scored by those conceded) and we were doomed by 0.032 of a goal. Had Mannone not made that mistake then the thread would not have been started.

One thing I will happily concede however is that there has a been a miracle at Sunderland with the last 4 results.

Not to be self-serving about anything, but I expressed my thoughts before some tough fixtures rather than crowing after them.

Being resigned to relegation is a far cry from saying we are down; if you care to researched

He went a bit strange. Got the wrong end of the stick with me and slipped into dickhead mode because he was in a bad mood from arguing with smug. Then after behaving like a dick told me that I'm better than this. You can't make it up. A good poster turned into a right crank for a moment or two.

Yes of course it is <doh>

"Regardless of who caused it or why we got where we are, if we want to avoid another long stay in the championship then is it not sensible to retain some of the current experienced players to get us back quickly rather than the huge rebuild that has been mooted. We have seen the best and worst of the team lately but it seems obvious that they can play well enough to maybe even get us back in the first season."

At least it demonstrates why you've taken the thread title so personally, grabbed the wrong end of the stick and pursued a daft argument.
You seem to believe you're the voice of reason and you need to take up the sword of justice.

This isn't the first time you've chosen to have a pop at me personally which is, of course, your prerogative.

If you believe that reflects well on you, and 'puts me in my place', then fair enough.

Well give them a chance and perhaps they will.

I never read tags but, if I did, I wouldn't expect anything worthwhile tbh ......... it's like expecting to find a diamond ring in a pool of vomit.

I wouldn't worry about it Stu. I never read them, never rated or starred a post. Don't see what people get out of making comments like that tbh.

I had no idea those things were there.
What are they and what do they do?
Clicked on a few and I`m none the wiser, don`t make any sense to me.

Nowt to see there Pops, just a modern alternative to banter, wit & debate.

I have to say though, this thread seems to have been a useful catalyst for a few people to get things off their chests.

Ironically, as the wiser folk like yersel probably realise, that was the whole point <ok>

Yes, I must admit it`s quite entertaining.

I don`t indulge in slanging matches. Those who can`t debate and put a coherent argument forward tend towards the `I`m right and if you don`t agree you can go and (..........)(insert obscenities of your choice)`brigade, bore me.

Just because I don`t agree does not make me an enemy.

`Getting things off their chests` is a bit of an understatement.

Surely that's the whole point of the board <ok>

Many people think I'm in your brigade but I never claim I'm right ........ I put mesel up to be proved wrong, rarely happens tbh <laugh>

It doesn`t take long to get personal does it?

All good fun for me, nothing quite like a good meltdown. Surprised there`s not more burst blood vessels. Amazing the way some folk get het up.

Sorry, I missed your post ..... I was specifically referring to the Mags etc who were already celebrating.

Their pathetic salivating thread, about how they were going to celebrate our relegation, was cringing.

They managed what we all thought was now impossible .......... being more embarrassing than they've previously managed.

That's because people allow their childish grudges & vendettas to cloud their judgement.

I can have a 'heated debate' with people on one thread and a happy Sunderland 'love in' on another.

Some bring their bile onto a thread where it's not relevant and appear bitter & twisted.

It's all just a bit of fun ffs. I've just been banned for life from the Newcastle board.

Not for swearing or anything terrible, just because the likes of ACS can't abide their raw nerves being hit.

Illogical insults never bother anyone, it's only when you're right that people get really upset.

It's been terrible supporting this club for many reasons .......... I'm stuck at home today and have had more than a few glances at the table.

Can Norwich beat Arsenal at home, can we blob it on Wednesday, how will the mood be if Sessegnon scores after 5 minutes <doh>
