IMO just masking over his side's inadequacies!! If Juve are a reflection of Italian football at the moment no wonder attendances are tumbling there!!! Serie A needs to sort itself out, including the nastiness of some of its fans (re Lazio and others) with their z(x)enophobic attitude towards black players.

Really pathetic from Conte. Clattenburg had a great game.

He is a magnificent manager though. Reshaping the game in terms of tactics. Can't hate him too much.

It's nothing major, that's just how Italians are.

Well you're certainly not speaking for me or mine, and I'm half Italian.

Well, you've rumbled me … I needed google translate for that (...my late mother turns in her grave...)

so at least the first game in the World Cup is a win-win. I want England to do well, but I can always pull the Italian card :)

Well, yes there is that though I don't like to blow the trumpet too hard..!

I follow both teams until the inevitable bowing out of England and then concentrate on Italy. I imagine it's a similar thing for you..?

If that's England v Italy, then yeah I guess so. Of course, I'm not keen that one team could put out the other. I'd rather they weren't in the same group, unless they come first and second.

I start the tournament by wearing my England shirt to watch the games, then always end it wearing the azzuri shirt - WC are poignant to me now as my late mother hated all things football, but I still remember her crying when the Italian national anthem was played in 2006 before the final. She died a few months later. Weird fact - when she was born in 1934 Italy were champions, when she died in 2007 Italy were champions. I was born in 1969, while England were champions…a bit of me hopes we don't win for a while :)

I didn't see the game so I can't comment on Clattenburg's performance last night, but I know that when I have seen him referee games, he has been awful. It is my opinion yes, and I know Tom will disagree, but he is rubbish.
