Agree Vetch the Laudrup v Monk debate is getting on my tits, but the positive thing is at least the board is arguing over a footballing matter so I can put up with it as it's better than the pre Laudrup sacking normality of people arguing with each other over none football related issues <ok>

Not so Libertarian, no one has said that Monk is a 'vast improvement on Laudrup' have they?

Some have dared to defend him against petty, childish abuse and unfounded allegations, but none has said he's better than anyone; even though he has done a decent job under trying circumstances. I too think Monk has done very well since Laudrups sacking, but I do not compare or contrast the two.

Monk has achieved all he could achieve in his short time, with his limited experience, but he has avoided relegation; the same relegation we appeared to be heading for in Laudrup's reign.

All the bitching from Laudrup supporters suggests annoyance with Monk's success but all he has done is give his best, and we survived, so what's the problem?

Admittedly, if Laudrup stayed we may not have been relegated either but I doubt we'd have any more points than now, or be in any better a position.

If Laudrup had stayed and we survived would anyone be screaming for him to emulate previous successes? I doubt it.

What is apparent from the recent plague of posts, and this is purely my opinion based on the torrent of bile puked on this forum recently, is that a small minority of aerosols seem furious with Monk for daring to be half decent. The fact that he is, and that he has saved our club from relegation renders their pro Laudrup arguments mute and its annoyed the hell out of them. It does makes me laugh though.

Oh and regarding Michu, he's shown his true value this year hasn't he?

Laudrup was ready to unleach HIS healthy team on all 3 competitions , when the knives came out and fans were cheated to a roller coaster ride of a 2nd half . Most will line up holding Monks flag while walking over Laudrup like he never existed while some know we could have had a great 2nd half instead of 3 and out of both cups and a rough relegation ride with a healthy but confused team .There should be an inquiry to the boards behavior when January turned to Febuary , the perticulars with Laudrups agent , the interference toward the manager transfering , the line up for the FA CUP game against Everton.

You need to go no further than Dai's posts to see that Monk is the best thing to ever happen to the Club.
There has been a constant stream of negativity towards Laudrup, not to mention "unfounded allegations".
I'm not knocking Monk, and he has done as well as could be hoped
So,it sounds to me that you seem to have missed all the "bitching" against Laudrup.
I don't know where all this "torrent of bile puked on this forum"against Monk comes from.
I note with great interest that you make a very snide comment re Michu, who has been plagued with injury.
Your entire post is regrettable, but no doubt some of the Laudrup haters will ring your praises. I won't,however.

Terror, well said re your reply to Stumpy, I chose to not bother, because its always our fault for sticking up for the manager others **** on. I mean its even in my posts when I am comparing, such as the whole ""This is his record since the cup final, which many would have you believe was a **** return", which just happened to be better than Monks in all comps. That is why I did it, not because I think Monk is ****, I am behind the bloke, but I am fed up to the teeth of the **** spewed, by the likes of Dai, and as you happened to point out, Stumpy as well, who also went on to compare the two and say monk saved us. Its a ****ing joke, and because you reply to them defending our past manager, who yes I am annoyed we sacke,d we get labelled as the ones who start it lol.

If they stopped getting in the sly little digs, it would never get to this point. But they are too stupid to see that.

The next time you "pull me up" will be the first time.

Your anti Laudrup/pro Monk stance is clear for all to see,so no-one needs to "make things up".

Lots of bookies not taking any bets as he's such a shoo-in. Personally I think it's a big risk. He'll have to rebuild a squad with no experience so I'd like some experience brought in in whatever backroom position.
