It wasn't the tweet you have quoted that caused the controversy, Lock Stock.
It was the one he tweeted in reply to Sherwood's comments, which relate to the title of this thread. - sandro's reply on twitter was "LOL LOL LOL LOL", directly after sherwoods comments were made. Everyone knew what the "LOL's" meant and what Sandro was referring to. - just read the comments from the fans.
You are right, but it was the one that Sherwood responded to with his not good enough comments. Certainly it escalated from there, but Lock Stock is right that the original tweet could have been dismissed as harmless. He was probably sick of his timeline being blocked by asking about his fitness. We've wondered enough on here.

There's a platitude for (almost) every occasion, and most professionals learn some of them. Redknapp had the one Sherwood should have used, "Too many players deserve to start, etc., etc." Sherwood seems to take pride in not resorting to platitudes, which will please nonconformists and fans of plain speech but not too many others.

It's like he wants to prove to everyone that he has big balls, but he's not Mourinho or even Redknapp in the tactics department. Why? Not even Sir Alex would talk in such a manner about a member of his squad.
I just find it more worrying that he seems to either not realise, or doesn't care when he's being led into making inflammatory comments about his own players. Not good either way!
Sandro has been below his best this season, due to being in and out of the team with injuries. But a fully fit and on form Sandro is a massive asset to any team, and should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
There's no question he's one of the best DMs in the world at his best. The thing is, what amounts to an anti-DM prejudice on Sherwood's part has helped produce a team that's been scoring more than AVB's did, a lot more. Eleven goals in three games is nothing to sneeze at. Of course we've given up more as well, but, as has been pointed out, most of the goals haven't been due to lack of protection for the back four, but from comic gifts. We're leading the league in goals gifted, for the simple reason, IMO, that Naughton is the only one who puts his foot through the ball when he should, for the most part.

Stupid thing is that a player's only a DM if you tell them to be. Point is that all players have a mix of attributes and, even if you don't want to label someone a DM and tell them never to cross the half-way line it might help if they can tackle. IMO Sandro can do an awful lot more than "just" DM responsibilities and if you wanted someone who can put a shift in, close down, tackle AND do other stuff like pass, carry the ball forward and have a pop at goal then Sandro's your man.

If the team won, quite comfortably I might add, then how is this a discussion? I could understand if you guys had lost but this seems like a non-issue, unless of course this is nothing but another excuse to have a go a Sherwood.

Sherwood is clearly not a man manager. Whilst the finer points can be learnt, the talent to be a leader, and a leader who is respected and liked, is more innate.
The best I ever had, or saw, was an American boss I had back in the 80's. He had that unique talent of being able to be one of the guys, you could have a drink with him, go and talk to him about anything and he would discuss it man to man with you, not boss to employee. But, you still never ever forgot he was the boss! Not many can pull that trick off.

I had a boss like that, too. First time I saw him was right before our biggest sponsor came to visit. He was sweeping the floor.

If Sandro is good enough, and I think he is, he'll be back into the side again soon enough.
Sherwood may well be picking what he believes to be the best team available K3, but that doesn't mean that he's right.
Beating Fulham minus their best player, because he belongs to us, is hardly anything to write home about, is it?
He's had some decent results, but he's also had some incredibly poor ones and he keeps making the same mistakes.
He's not played for a month. In his last game he played out of position as a centre back and Sherwood praised him. He'll get a game when Sherwood's ego decides he can, it isn't a question of not being good enough.
Sandro has worked with 2 managers, who were very different in style, both made him a key player and the question of attitude or skill has never come up. Sherwood comes in and has fallen out with Capoue, Holtby and Sandro(that we know of). He has also taken numerous pot shots at the squad's desire, professionalism and ability from the comfort of his pre/post-match interviews. I know who's side I'm taking.
