anyone any news on goalkeepers?!?!? starting to get quite worried as Oxley is far too young and inexperienced.

anyone but guzan.. please. doesnt fill me with confidence when he's between the sticks. prone to the more-than-occasional error.

Look at it this way though. For a goalkeeper, he's still very young so can only get better. Yes he's made errors but every goalkeeper does. David James built a solid career for himself despite the fact he was hugely dodgy at times. Robert Green is another that springs to mind.

I posted this on the other thread, but it was probably more relevant on here. Some of the current free agents:

Adriano Basso (Wolves)
Jason Brown (Blackburn) - Hopefully Leeds bound.
Marcus Hahnemann (Wolves)
Richard Kingson (Blackpool)
Joseph Murphy (Scunts)
Paul Rachubka (Blackpool)
Jan Sebek (Chelsea) - Bit of a punt this one, he's 20, in the Czech U20's, is 6'5" and has been playing for the Cheslea reserves.
Maik Taylor (Brum)
Iain Turner (Everton)
Matthew Gilks (Blackpool) - Though he has been offered a new deal at Blackpool.

Sebek has gone back to the Czech Republic. Murphy to Coventry seems like a done deal. Kingson is garbage.

I'd like Hahnemann, Gilks is a good goalie, Turner is a big lad who should be better than he is but would be a fine back-up. Taylor has been a good goalie too regardless of his age.

Will have trouble getting any goalkeeper to come here if he's going to be 2nd choice.
May have been better to have kept Duke and just get a 1st choice keeper.
Is Oxley ready to cover the 2nd choice position??

I thought Guzan was OK for us and apparently he was popular with the lads and the management team, I'd still like to see Bo back at the club though.

6 clean sheets in 16 games isnt bad, i agree he had some shaky moments, but remember he came having never played behind the back 4, i think with a pre-season under him and time with NP's back four we'd see a better Guzan, id be happy with him as our goalkeeper, lets face it we aint signing mannone for 2m+ or anybody for a huge fee.

Gilks would be my first choice but can we tempt him? maybe not, Id much rather prefer a perm signing than a loanee, we need stabilty in this position its vital. Hahnemann woulld be a good signing too. As a last resort id even be okay with us Signing Basso.

Dorus de vries from Swansea would of been ideal always been a good championship goalie, i wonder if we could of got him as first choice instead of him going to Wolves as back up
