FFS I'm called a paddy/mick etc etc...I don't get all precious about it. I've found jews at my school in the day, offensive, money oriented, class conscious..

Call it what you will, with respect Shako, I don't recall reading about the extermination of millions of Irish just because they were.

Of course, Irish have been discriminated in a major way, not the least here in the USA not so long ago.

I have probably come across many more Jews who have given much of themselves and their money to help those less fortunate than themslevs - both Jewish and non-Jewish. So what? My granddad bigger than your granddad and so forth.

C'mon mate, there is no place for this sort of stuff in today's world - whatever group it is aimed at.
 
You can't smoke a fake e cig in public places. You'd think the tree huggers would be glad to see them. Yet A&Es all over the UK are strangled 3 nights every weekend with alcohol abuse another example of mummy state finkos dictating their puerile views to everyone. While the Y word was unnecessary people MUST be allowed to speak or have an opinion.

Yes the more you opress something the mor it will prolifer,like prohibition in the states,they drank more,
Freedom of speech? Yeah for some.

With freedom comes responsibility.

The origin of freedom of speech historically comes from the prohibition to be critical of those in power. It is not intended to be free license to spread hatred or stir people up.

I respect what happened to your faith Jonny, my relatives fought to free the bigotry that you suffered . I don't care how we Irish were treated or the blacks or the muslims etc etc. I'm just tired of people being so sensitive to words and opinions. It might not be PC but so what. As long as it isnt hate inciting so what. I am no expert in historical events, but I'm sure Palestinians would have a different opinion to yours. I'm not taking sides, but we all get insulted...<ok>
 
If I tell a Jewish joke I'm immediately anti simetic. If Jackie Gleeson tells one am I allowed to laugh? The same thing with Eddie Murphy and black jokes. The whole funny thing about jokes is that they play on a stereo type. Why should I be allowed to tell Irish jokes and not you?

Again Carrick, it depends on the context and type of joke.

Forget about groups of people, there are jokes about historical events and other topics that are in bad taste and not appropriate in public. A joke you tell your 5 closest mates in one of your homes might be just fine but when told at work or some other public palce is just not appropriate.
