Roo I said above when Madrid want their man they will get him, but thats the main point, they aren't interested and thats why Suarez is still at liverpool.

Madrid will not bid another world record fee next year when they already have Bale and Ronaldo and Benzema in good form. There isn't room for Suarez at Madrid, currently anyway, but maybe in the future.

2. A professional pundit - I forget which one - made a good point, recently. He reckons that Goofy won't be able to repeat this season (effectively, he's going to "do" an RVP), on the basis that this season he's been playing for revenge, but that when he wins Player of the Year, he will feel vindicated, the press will love his, the anger will dissipate, and he'll go back to being the twat that he was before this season.

I've always believed that this season he's been playing well as a "come and get me" plea to a big club, and I fully expect a big club to come in for him, during the Summer.

Which such club is actually in need of Suarez at this moment ??

4. The big clubs will always be on the look out for the best players. That's a given. It's never a question of need for those clubs, but a matter of "want."

Arsenal, although not a big club, will most certainly be able to afford him, and both Chavs and £ity will want to buy him, if only to stop 'Pool from mounting a challenge next season.

United can neither afford him, nor do they any longer have the qudos to be able to attract him.

Barca could be interested, what with the season they've had; and Real would want him, if only to stop Barca getting him.

I would say Barcelona but they have their transfer ban.

Madrid, as you guys have been saying, don't really need him (though that's not stopped them before - they could well switch out Benzema for Suarez).

Munich don't need him with Lewandoski on the way.

I don't think there's any other clubs that would pay what Liverpool would want and also fall into the category of a club that Liverpool would deal with - Chelsea and City could both do with Suarez and could afford him but I couldn't see 'Pool selling to either.

If the Poool insist on half up front, Suarez won't go to Madrid unless the La Marca
state-sponsored unsettling happens all summer. And even then, with Brasil 2014
coming, Suarez will have more important things on his mind.

Real don't give a crap about what they need. They have to go out and make a massive transfer every summer, anyway.
This is especially true if they fail to win either the league or Champions League, which is entirely possible.

Barca will have their transfer embargo negated or suspended and they'll be very active if they win **** all.
Looks like that's what's going to happen, too.

City? Chelsea? Monaco? Man Utd? <whistle>

Bale is too important to Madrid, not just short term but long term so they would risk unsettling him and his role within the team just when hes adapting. If they want to take that risk then they would be going back to the days where they just signed any star without thinking how they would settle within the squad and they appear to be better run now in terms of planning for the balance of the squad.

Can't see Liverpool dealing with an English club unless a huge sum is paid.

Monaco is possible - Falcao has been injured for half of their season but they're still second (10 points off PSG) - Suarez could push them over the top.

Although saying that - PSG might want him.

Given that Isco and Illarramendi are young Spanish players who will be playing more and more and Modric has cemented one of the best playmakers in the World so I'd be surprised to see any big transfers in midfield and with Di Maria, Ronaldo and Bale they won't be adding any big players there. It looks like defence and strikers are the places they could look to make a big signing. Unless they win the CL I can't see them being able to afford Suarez so I'd expect Suarez to stay another season with Real starting the tapping up this summer.

If Real Madrid can afford to sign Bale for £80mill+ and Suarez for £80mill+ in the next season without doing something special like winning the treble then this game is really ****ed.

Not at all. Their tactics are entirely sound.
La Marca muppets do the state-sponsored unsettling.
They then try to set the payment terms accordingly once the player wants to go.

If they had to pay for Bale akin to how Spurs have for Soldado, then they would need
to sell more land to the city council.

Here's the official video of the Bale goal, for anyone that missed it:

Ronaldo reacts like he's a normal Real Madrid fan.

How many players in the world could've scored that? How many would've even tried it?

13. Big players attract the attention of the big clubs, and are vulnerable to being picked off if they are not already established at a big club.

'Pool simply is not big enough to hold on to Goofy. Bale got too good for us, and we didn't stand a cat in hell's chance of keeping him. In the same way, Goofy is, now, far too good for 'Pool and they cannot expect to hold on to him.

That's the way modern football works.

Barca will no doubt be after a new manager soon, so once the transfer ban is lifted then they will go through a process of rebuilding as their squad and team needs new faces but first step for them is midfield and defence or if they hire Ossie Ardiles then Suarez and Ageuro will be signed.

I thought they were acknowledging his shirt number (plenty of "11"s on show there) .

Is it just me or do the Barca fans cheer when they think he's been pushed out by Bartra? Very short lived happiness! <laugh>

Why was Bradley Walsh doing the summarising?

My favourite bit was Ancelotti going beserk demanding a free kick on the half way line. Bet he's glad he was ignored!
