We don't need to sell does not necessarily mean we won't sell for best price possible if a player decides he wants to try his hand at a bigger club. See, that's sensible too.

"We are definitely not factoring in a big player sale" is a bit different to "we don't need to sell".

Exactly. Many on the pt1 thread seemed to read the headline and say we aren't selling anyone. Kruger is just repeating what he said before few weeks ago. That noone will be sold that Mauricio doesn't want to be sold. If Mauricio is told we have an offer of £30m for x player and we will let you spend it all on players then Mauricio may well then decide that although he didn't want to sell that player that he now does want to sell that player :)

He is saying there won't be a big (player-sale) and not that there won't be a (big-player) sale. He is merely stating there isn't going to be a mass exodus.

Not sure I agree with your analysis there, the guardian article implies it's the latter as well with the singular: "Krueger is adamant that there is a solution and it does not lie in cashing in on a saleable player"

I suppose it could be interpreted either way, maybe a deliberate choice of words!

Well I have already nailed by colours to the mast on this one- we shouldn't sell Luke, but.... If someone offers us the price of two Luke Shaws, then I would sell in a heartbeat in rather the same way that Andy Carroll was sold to Liverpool for the price of two Andy Carrolls. If we were only to be offered 20% over the cost of another Luke Shaw, why take the risk?

No, they're not factoring in a sale, but you're ignoring this -

Ambitious player decides to leave mid-table developing club for huge club for considerably more money.

That will shock a grand total of nobody, and if that's what he decides, the very best of luck to him.

Why would they do that? They've got job security here, middle finger to ambitions. Plus they really, really, really care about us fans.

What does Krueger have to do...paint it on a wall like Banksie (but in blood).

1. The reported financial problems can be resolved without selling players.
2. He hopes to keep Mauricio and is willing to be patient.
3. Katharina loves the club and is here long term.
4. Onwards and upwards.

I agree that no one can factor in what a player may choose to do, but the important thing is that it isn't being forced on us by an owner strapped for cash and pushing for sales. This is such an relief that I am willing to relax.

P.s. I think he meant not a big sale of players rather than not a sale of big players.

Agree with Fran. If a player wants to go not much we can do but I think we can safely assume we arent looking too offload any stars.

Read it, Beef.

Didn't bother linking it because because nobody believes that sort of sensible stuff. Besides, it usually gets usurped by the very next rumour within seconds of being posted and then is completely forgotten.

What's not to believe. You must have read "we will not sell" where I read "we don't need to sell"
