All over twitter that he's agreed a pre-contract... He's young, from newcastle and a workhorse. This thread isn't to discuss the validity of the rumors but whether you'd have him. I think that our squad is hurting for depth, and he's surely better than obertan, gosling and that group. If nothing else for free he'd give us good depth that we need.

    Yes. No question. But....

he should be a part of strengthening squad options. We would still need high quality first team signings.

    Yes, I would take him.

Could be awkward for him at Derland if true.

Or in Ashley's terms, "One down, none to go."

Hardly a player to challenge the top 6, but better than Gosling as a squad player. I haven't worked out the numbers but surely we also need to get some British players in this summer to meet the league criteria so it would be a good move on that count.

Am I imagining it or was he cupping his ear to the crowd when they scored at our place this season? Bit naughty if we are meant to be his club.

If nothing else he's an extra body and heaven knows we need one or two.

Yes and we already have one of them in Campbell. The bloke had one good game this season - against us and we were complete ****. Most Sunderland fans don't even rate him and nor do ****ing I. Christ people will be suggested Sidwell and the like next. The work hard type but with no actual talent - the last sort we need.

Going by some of the performances this season we could do with a few of the work hard type of players as well as a few flair players. Colback would be worth having.

He seems to be quite highly thought of from what I can gather...

...didn't know his contract was up this summer though? Has no-one else shown any interest since January?

Can't say I blame him. He's a Mag after all. I've always known he's a Mag. I'm Not going to hold a lad moving to his boyhood club against him.

Average player like. He'll hardly improve you, very good at passing a ball backwards or sideways, useless at passing it forward and rarely scores. Just an average all round low table Midfielder with a bit of developing still to do.

Better than what we've got on our bench.... I'm sick of championship standard or less (obertan) coming on the "change the game". Anytime shola comes on i just say **** Pardew why are you doing this to us....

Can't say the thought of signing Colback has added much to my Glow.
