How can you be an 'ex-fan', but also 'once a fan, always a fan'? You're a fan or you're not aren't you? Are you being a martyr? Has David Conn started a trend that you wish to follow? I thought the idea of support was that you support your club whatever the weather? Whether that be scrapping it out on boggy pitches in Division 4, or playing in the Premier League (which I know you hate) because, well, it's your team. I'm sure many fans hated the days in the bottom 2 leagues year after year, but you still do it. I think you should too, no matter that City are in the Prem, and in spite of your opinions on it. The fact a journalist has taken a publicised stance and labelled himself an 'ex-fan', and there's books coming out about it, makes it whiff of an elitist fad to me. And of course it's unforgivably narcissistic.
Bum-chinned-crab, the problem with your reply is that TWF has to now give credit to Adam for where we are now, and I somehow don't think he'll entertain that. (that is if anyone, seriously, believes that Brown deserves the credit for being almost safe in the PL with over 5 games to go and in a cup semi). Who probably deserves credit is any manager who has brought in any of the players who have been the backbone of the team for the season. I can't be bothered to list them all, but if someone wishes to - then go ahead
Phil Brown (Ox, Macca) Nigel Pearson (Rosy, Koren, Chester, Brady, Fryatt, Dudg) Steve Bruce (everyone else) This isn't exactly precise, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I'd like to state for the record that Saints will stuff both Hull and Lecester home and away next season.
I donât care what those crazy emotionally addled Geordies say, but theyâre obsessed with Bruce and Hull City. I have a quick nosy at RTG about once a week (I look in at pretty much all of our rivals) and on the first page of their forum there is always at least one thread about us or Bruce. The current theme for weeks has been in some sort of reference to the cup week. Bruce is always talked about, no matter what. Long and Jelavic another regular feature. Hull are ****e marra â another favourite. They seem to mention us more than NUFC â Iâve even read some of them say that they hate us more than NUFC (doubt this would a universal view though).
If a team’s quality was purely based on evaluating matches against Hull City this season, then I’d easily peg S’oton as top 4.
how can you say that when the leicester team will be unrecognisable compared to this season. indeed i would hazzard a guess that most of the players' names will be unpronouncable also as they will go for the relatively cheap cucumber picker approach of importing players from less conventional sources to put good british prospects out of work
He'd be great, but his fee plus wages would be too big I'd fear. Someone else suggested him recently and I think it was reported that he was on about 50k p/w.
