Well I have to admit that is one of the best articles I have read in a while and shows that not all football fans are blinkered and self deluded. Reality seems to take a back seat for a lot of people when it comes to their team and it's refreshing to see someone actually consider the players point of view in a balanced way.
Yeah some good perspective. I think it acknowledges that for the immediate future Spurs can not compete with United, Chelsea and now City so would it be fair to hold Modric back? Spurs are ran the right way and good luck to them for that but if a fair offer comes in, it would be harsh to deny a player of a step up in his career. That said, Modric has caused his own problems by signing a massive long term deal where he still isn't paid (comparitively) that well. The only disagreement I have is that Spurs will sell. I dont think they will. They still believe they can get it to the top 4 (not with Liverpool improving in my view) so will do their upmost to keep Modric and Bale.

It would be interesting to hear their views about it, but you can bet your bottom dollar you'd get Ensil, Shelfside and Please not Poll throwing their toys out of the pram about it.
