Sorry, my last thread was Hijacked by a bitter spud stalker. But that small distraction aside what do Chelsea fans think about the bid for Modric? £22m does seem a bit of a derisory offer - is that just an opening bid? Fergie is looking for a creative CM to replace Scholes too and may also come in with a bid for Modric, who has made no secret of his desire to play more Champions League football, something that Spurs cannot offer. I think it's going to take an offer at least around the £30m mark for Harry and Levy to part with their best player. Question is, will it be Roman or Fergie who lands his man?
Interesting one. I think he is probably worth around 30 million but unless he forces a move then i can't see spurs seeling him unless it was silly money tabled. I can't see him forcing a move and if he did, I think Spurs would rather sell to United and he'd probably prefer to go there to. Can't see us getting him to be honest. Sneijder would be similar money and is a far better player IMO.
Can't go in at full tilt with too much, but we do need to get it negotiated pretty swiftly otherwise we will lose out to the likes of Utd etc, if Modric does indeed want to leave. I would love to see him at Chelsea, he is fecking class
Everyone has a price and Spurs will let him go if the price is right. Have to say although theoretically £22m is too much for him, in today's market that would be too low. It annoys me now that these days your average joe commands such a high price tag. Regardless, I reckon £28-£30m and Spurs will sell.
He isn't good enough for Chelsea and SAF doesn't really want him. Let Moderate continue to wallow in obscurity at WHL or move to Russia.
£22 mil was a good starting bid but we should have written in an stuff Harry's pockets full of cash clause and Spurs would have accepted it.
I know it's the daily mail but it seems they have actual quotes from Modric: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ve-I-want-join-Chelsea.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Interesting if it's actually true. I feel we need his type of creativity in our midfield, he's talented no doubt, but im not 100% I want him at Chelsea.
Spuds only made it to the CL when he was out for a 3rd of the season with injury. Also, check how many points you get when he is in the team and not.....the percentages are interesting He isn't fit to grace any top 4 team other than as a rotation spare.
Whatever you say pal I'll assume you haven't watched Tottenham play much this season. And if you did, i can only conclude you don't have a proper appreciation of the game . Because if you did you would recognize that Modric has been immense this season, admittedly in a team that has failed to produce in the league. What you ought to really dread is if Modric goes to Man Utd tbh. They already pipped Chelsea to the title this season with relative ease. This with a side that is considered anything but 'vintage Man Utd'. Modric at Utd at this present time is a match made in heaven
He is a cracking player, anyone who cant see that has issues, but will he actually go, its gonna have to be one hell of a bid. In light of this story i really wish gods spurs tattoo hadnt been banned, would love to hear from him right now.
Modric is exactly the sort of player that Chelsea were missing last term and his delivery from midfield will surely give the ammunition that Torres was starved of when he arrived in January. This does represent a sea change in the playing style of Chelsea though, Drogba has been the link between the front line and midfield coming deep to collect the ball before bulldozing the defence but there has been little service through the middle. I am hoping for a wide man or two to give further service to the strikers.
If the rumours are correct then we made a tentative bid for him last summer, but Modric wanted to stay and play for the spuds in the CL. Seems our lords and masters did know what we needed last year after all, just didnt get him and decided to wait 12 months rather than go out and get a 2nd choice player.
Interesting point. Also having won the double scoring 103 goals in the process, perhaps we thought it would all carry on fine. Last season proved without doubt that we need some creativity and it looks to be finally being addressed. Modric and say Sanchez would transform us over night IMO. It's down to how much Modric wants the move now. Like with Torres, they will sell if he really wants to go. Like Torres, maybe Luka will realise his dream of playing for a big club!! (only jesting scousers!!)
SAF 'SAYS' he is the best in the Premiership - that is not the same as him believing it. If he really thought that, he would be on a plane to Manchester by now. Unlike most others, when he eventually moves this summer, I pray it is to a premier top 4 team and not abroad. The weaker the rest of the top 4 are, the better our chances
