Football in general is about brands, which is why people from Hull support Liverpool, Manchester United and Leeds United without having any connection with those clubs.

FC United of Manchester walked away from the "greatest" European football club of the past 20 years and are thriving. They have raised over £8 million to build their own stadium. They have shown what is possible and what can be achieved in Hull if the FA agree the name change.

We are coming to the end. We all knew it was coming. You pays your money and you take your choice. If the FA say Yes then I will be looking to see if getting AFC Hull City off the ground is feasible. Not just emotion, not just passion, but how do we raise the money to put the idea into practice.

I doubt I could generate the passion for another club. The old man and some of our 'fans' are rapidly sucking it out of me and plenty of others. I'm proud of what the ctwd group have done, and ashamed of some of those that will sell their soul so cheaply, or use the debate to gain short term attention on a messageboard.

Football IS about brands, and business, its the small time thinking you're displaying that keeps clubs like us feeding off the scraps from the clubs who recognise that. Sure, its about other elements too such as passion, loyalty, emotional ties and so on, but ultimately if you don't have the income you won't achieve anything. Reducing the argument to a purely emotional one is just naive.

The argument is not purely emotional, no credible business case has been made for the change either.

Ehab spouts some vague nonsense about it improving our negotiating position, when quite clearly the prior claims about new investment based on a name change were made up. There is not now, nor has there ever been, any individual or company who asked us to change our name.

The motivation for this change is entirely down to AA wanting City out of our name and he's come up with some ludicrous marketing nonsense to try and justify it. Fortunately, most can see it for what it really is and I believe the FA will to.

I would definitely not go and support Hull plastics. Allam said he would walk away within 24 hours, another lie.

If the FA let the name change happen, i will walk away with a very heavy heart.

I think that is a very interesting suggestion.

I only get to go to a handful of games now and I miss the "realness" of the pre-plastic era, as fantastic as it is to see Hull City doing so well - I used to have a better day out when we were ****. Plus I could actually get tickets for local away games.

Hence wondering if I would still want to be a supporter if the transfer to full-plastic Americanised Hull Tigers comes off. But would I want to throw away 25 years of supporting history?

Which is why the opinion of others is very interesting as I really cannot make my mind up, though I don't have to yet.

I have considered going to watch Reading Town FC as it is just about within walking distance from my house and has a glorious 162 seats in the stadium - 85% standing, ahhhh

Equally though a vigilante campaign to reverse a name change could be quite fun and take me back to my Hull Tigers days.

If we did start a campaign to reclaim our name rather than form a new club plenty of advice could be obtained from the Spirit of Shankley and the Liverpool fans involved in the campaign against Hicks.

I don't see any reason why not. He said the name was common and lousy, why would he want to stop anybody else using it.

There is nothing to stop any owner of Hull Tigers asking for a merger with AFC Hull City to reclaim the playing name Hull City.

Allam hasn't got any reason to change the name other than a whim of his, because he can't get what he wants.

He's blackmailed the fans & i'm not standing for it.

If it happens I hope it doesn't backfire & Hull Tigers fail. They better go on to achieve more than City ever did to make it worthwhile.

Otherwise, we'd be even bigger laughing stocks.
