A concern of mine is he made 38 apps in 09/10, and scored 12 goals and got 5 assists
In the 10/11 season, he made 10 apps, scored 1 and got 2 assists....

He was injured most of last season

Woah! Just woke up & find out we get a cracking winger on a FREE! Brilliant piece of business. Hope we spalsh the cash though on another striker & a couple of promising youngsters who can add squad depth. Absolutely surprising though, I thought he was going to Liverpool.

Is a RM needed now?
RB maybe?

What do you lot think?

Getting one over on the bindippers is good news in itself. Hope the rumblings about maybe losing Colo and Jonas aren't right though.

If you even mention the words Ronald or Vargas....

...imma do to you what we'd all have done to Leazes corner if we signed Gervinho!

Liverpool have apparently spent 'months' trying to get his signature. Quite a coup in all respects.

He was a Hodgson idea. Kenny obviously wasn't impressed enough to go the extra mile and meet his personal terms. Way too injury prone imo.

Very suprised about this signing as I read yesterday he was signing for Liverpool :emoticon-0102-bigsm Great signing for free.

I predicted at the end of the season that we'd sell our best players and replace them with free transfers, something I found seriously worrying. However, if the free signings are of the quality we've seen arrive so far then who knows, this might work?

Just yesterday talking to a mate I told him it would appear that we are selling/releasing all our top earners Nolan, Smith, Barton looking a likely departure with Enrique and Jonas. We wondered why their had been no talk of Colo going and hey presto the rumours have started today :(

Even if the quality of players we bring in to replace our top earners are equal or better, my main concern is too many foreign players in the team who will more than likely take a season or two to find their feet? Look at Enrique who took two years to become the player he is, Colo & Jonas both took a year.......

Will certainly be interesting next season with almost an entire new team???? Will it work or not I don't know, fingers crossed the new lads can settle in as quickly as Tiote did.

He is an athlete, a powerfully legged sprinter, and his thighs have often been a strain to his progression. In summer 2008, after a good first season and a disappointing second term, he picked up a benign thigh injury during a France U21 game. Recovery should have been straightforward, but instead he met calcification issues and was forced to undergo surgery… he would miss the following 8 months. Tough luck can strike anyone, true, but the same thing happened to him once again this season, and a minor thigh muscle strain against Brest in November was enough to rule him out for the rest of the current campaign.

That is why he missed a large chunk of last season.

It's worth noting though that one was a (under-diagnosed) hamstring injury, and the more recent was a groin injury
