Good luck with Harristown Don. I've done Regal Encore. No one's mentioned Vibrato Valtat but Nicholls did on Monday and the word is 'confident'.

Daft question. If he wins on Saturday there is a huge bonus for winning at the Festival. Sadly the FW is on Wednesday which doesn't give him much time to get over his exertions. Obviously if he wins but doesn't come out of the race very well then you wouldn't risk a horse with such huge potential. Also if he wins as on alludes to the cheque books would be out almost for sure!
Bob meet Don, Don meet Bob. Don owns a quarter share in HARRISTOWN. Not sure how that came about LOL.
 
But is still a big ask for a 4 year old to run in 2 hot handicaps in 5 days whatever the bonus is. Anyway, i hope he wins for Don.
 
I agree 110% hawkeye. It will be a nice dilemma to have if it comes off. It has to be said though that this was a very late conceived plan as we always thought we would be looking at the Fred Winter and a Festival runner. I note Nass' argument but I honestly believe that this years Imperial Cup looks a lot more winnable than this years Fred Winter. You have to take your chances when and wherever they appear.
 
Yep, not often you get given a chance like this to get a 4 year old in the imperial cup with the WFA. Got to root for the little owners against the JP machine.
 
The key thing is that if this was going to be the only chance he had of running in a festival race with a half decent chance we would take it... there will be many more opportunities if hes half what we thing he could be as a chaser.

If he wins he will take his chance at the festival assuming hes come out of the race ok. Tough ask for a 4 year old but he came out of the last race like a dream on very heavy ground and would have been fine to run 4 days later. Its like humans, as a 20 year old you can get over most things in a day or 2. As a 30 or 40 year old takes a week!!

£100k bonus this year from Will Hill! We wont sell him.

Hi the Don we met at Newmarket and you told me about the horse that Stick twisted your arm to get involved in. I understand now its Harristown,and I think you've got a very good chance in the Imperial cup. Dreams can come true and maybe next week we'll all be celebrating in your good fortune. Just listen to your trainer he knows what he's doing and good luck I'll be rooting for you.
btw you wouldn't want a Montjeu.

The big question is how good is he compared to the favourite and we lets face it this is the worst kept secret in handicap hurdling but our boy is improving and we cant say that about the other fella with any degree of confidence. As Regal Encore is 100-30 and Harristown 20-1 I know which one I would rather be on! Annoyingly the weather is set fair for the rest of the week but its Heavy there at the moment so praying for a few showers as we really don't want the word GOOD in the going description.

I am now really taken with Harristown. Looks as though the ground will be soft enough, so I'm on. Would love to see the horse win for a forum member. So, go-go-go, Harristown!! <ok>
 
Not sure if many of you are keen on following trends but after going through them you are left with 1 horse&#8230;&#8230;.. HARRISTOWN!!!!

- French or Irish bred aged 4 to 7 (especially 4 or 5yos from Pipe stable)
- Carrying less than 11-0
- Officially rated 122 to 130
- Finished in first 3 on last start, 21 to 55 days ago
- Posted an RPR of 123+ on last 2 outings
- Run 1 to 5 times since August
- Run 3 to 9 times over hurdles (won no more than twice)
- Novice hurdlers do well
- Run in no more than 2 handicap hurdles
- Won at no higher than class 2 over hurdles
- Previously won or placed at Sandown (or having first course start)
- Officially rated 77+ on the flat
