Personally I'd stick Wes in the reserves to rot after his attitude on Sunday. He is a professional playing for a club in trouble and his attitude was that he did not want to upset the fans of a potential future employer. I get players not celebrating goals against clubs they have an affinity with (Henrik Larsson for Barca v Celtic springs to mind) but to not celebrate scoring for the club who your career has been defined by against anyone sends out such a poor message to your fans and, more importantly your team mates who could then question whether you pulled out of a tackle, chased back hard enough etc etc. An attitude like that will destroy what team untiy we have and frankly Wes is not good enough or vital enough to the team to be able to do what he wants with impunity.
Just for the record he is not a slave. He earns in a moth from NCFC more than many of us earn in a year and has done so for a number of years. I don't expect him to be broadcasting about how wonderful we are but similarly I do expect 100% commitment from him and the right attitude. Given his history with us it is the least he could do.

i'll be disappointed if i ever see him in the kit again after last night. a clear slap in the face to everyone connected with the club and the fact he played at all is on hughton's shoulders. i'd pop him in the reserves until the end of his contract. i dont even know if i'd want the kids training with him. i wouldnt sell him in the summer. what, for a million quid at the very most? why bother. take the hit and make a point.
Can somebody out there explain to me why a team that beat Spurs at home then go and exhibit such an abject display against Aston V? Are there some player hidden agenda's that we are not party to? Such displays against Stoke, Sunderland and WBA will certainly see us drop down to the Championship and a large exodus of players. How about playing Snodgrass as a striker alongside Hooper?
Yeah it was dreadful of him to be our only attacking outlet and scoring a goal.

I'm hoolahans biggest supporter (or was) , I found it to be incredibly disrespectful to the club and those who have paid to watch him over the years.
I can fully understand him wanting to leave and I would still have wished him all the best.
I think it was one of the worst things I've seen in football let alone in a City shirt.
I do think the let him rot remark was a little ott, but I do think his guesture was in poor taste.
He needs to be reminded where the money has come from when he gets his next pay slip.

Yes he did. He said that was the reason he brought Elmander on.
I knew Hughton was cautious, but to play for a loss with 45 minutes to go is taking the pee.
After a night's sleep I'm now not sure if I'd get rid of him right now, but I would have sacked him after Craven Cottage in the Cup. Probably too late now.

Let´s face it Hucks, whatever he had said or done at half-time, he would have been criticised for. He decided to try and get a little bit of pride back by at least keeping a 2nd half clean sheet, I guarantee if he´d brought Becchio and Elmander on and taken off a couple of defenders or midfielders and gone for all out attack, we´d have been more likely to have been clobbered 7 or 8 - 1, than anything else , and don´t try telling me he´d have got praise for trying it, because I don´t believe you. Like it or not, when you´re down 4 - 1 away from home at half-time against an evenly matched opponent, the game is lost, especially against a counter-attacking team like Villa.

Only attacking outlet? I didn't see that myself. Yes he scored and I felt he had a decent first 20 minutes or so like quite a few on Sunday - I have no issue with his ability, just his attitude.
I would drop him immediately for his attitude. How can the other ten players all caring about the cause be expected to respect and play alongside someone who clearly doesn't give a damn. As I said before every mistake Wes makes, every 50/50 tackle he loses will now be questioned. Is he pulling out of challenges as he doesn't want a knock which could hurt his future employment prospects? Is he not giving 100%? In a tight knit group like a football team in a releagation battle the last thing you need is for someone to obviously not want to be there. IF he plays again and makes a mistake then wait and see how long it takes for someone like Snodgrass to have a pop and we could have our players squabbling on the pitch..
For me it was like had Bassong just shrugged his shoulders and laughed when he put the ball through his own net. Basically I can do what I like, get paid regardless and screw everyone else. Bassong had a stinker of a game but I cannot question his heart or his effort.
I am hugely disappointed that a player who has defined his career at our club has chosen to end his time with us in an acrimonious fashion. He has choisen to sulk like a spoiled child rather than play well and stuff Hughton's opinion of him back down his throat.
I must admit I questioned his miss for the second goal when one-on-one with Guzan. Substantially easier to finish that than Snodgrass's goal last week, it was on his good foot and well away from the defenders...

But don't forget that Fer was injured and Howson had only played a few minutes football in the last two months, so from that aspect, (RvW was out with a knock too) it was Wes or Elmander to play that position.
Hughton's hand was largely forced by 1) unfortunate injuries, and 2) upgrading the calibre of striker at the club but not the required quality of service to get good service to them, as in an ACM.
But hey ho, that's all been said before - but it's still a valid point, imo, and continues to cost us dearly.
