  1. Remember when Arsenal were in the same position, but completely blew it?

That's why I find it laughable that Gooners really thought they could win the title this season, when we've all seen that Arsenal lacks any kind of bottle.

But they will probably take a CL slot.
They did concede 11 pts to Spurs in under a month in 2010.
But Spurs are not playing anywhere close to the level of the last 6-7 weeks of the 2010 season
to pounce on something similar happening.

  5. Yes, Arsenal are favourites to scrape a top 4 place, but I'm betting it will be close. Sure, all the kiddies over on the Goonies' board will laugh at us and tell us how we'll never topple them, etc, but their laughter will have a hollow ring to it, bearing in mind that they were "doing a 'Pool" and telling us that this year was going to be their year, whereas as we've been unsettled for all kinds of reasons, including the loss of our "one-man team."

The other thing is, of course, that should we snatch that final top 4 place off them, would any of us really want the guilt of so many suicides? PESKIE would probably top himself in that cupboard of his.

Benteke gives a lesson on how to score against Norwich. Two in two minutes!...perhaps our so called " strike force" ought to study the video.

This isn't a WUM, HIAG. It's a very real possibility Arsenal could miss out on top 4 despite being at the top for most of the season unless they get results against the top sides in their next few games. Given their record against the top seven so far, you wouldn't back them to take more than 4 points from Spurs (a), Chelsea (a), City (h), Everton (a) at best - and with some teams playing 5 games in this period (compared to their 4), half decent results for Spurs, Everton and (dare I say it) Utd (well maybe not, but who knows?) could leave them hanging on with half a dozen games left.

    100% spot on, actually.

What are we doing with Giroud up front...might as well have a ****ing statuette...Wilshire just not good enough...Why not Chamberlain? He's got something...The problem was January, when we did nothing...it's over, of course. Well, maybe not, we might not even finish top four.

The truth is I don't enjoy seeing a grown man break down in tears. I feel sorry for him, and that's no fun at all.

  9. Nah, **** him! They are the tears of self-pity, and it's pathetic to watch.

He thought Arsenal could win the title. Why are you blaming your team? It is what it is, including that £42 million flop of yours. Why choose now to turn on them? It was never going to happen.

And I agree with you, top 4 is now looking like a big ask for your players.

I haven't looked at Man U and Everton's schedules to see what kind of bad stretch they have, but Spurs have got a truly murderous March coming up as well: Chelsea and Pool away, Goons at home, with a home and home against last year's EL finalist thrown in for good measure. You really don't know with us this year, though, except maybe getting hammered by Pool looks like a good bet. Against good teams, weak teams, home, away, it hasn't seemed to matter much.

Sorry for him?? Why?? Firstly, he's a Gooner! Secondly, to see a grown man burst into tears over the result of a football match, is just pathetic!..

    Utd have a tough March - WBA (a), Liverpool (h), West Ham (a), City (h), Villa (h).

Everton play only 3 times - all winnable - Cardiff (h), Swansea (h), Fulham (a), then Arsenal (h) on 6th April.

  14. I'm hoping that our poor showing against Cardiff was down to Cardiff being better than we've all given them credit for, and at least holding Everton to a draw.

Wenger has been Arsenal manager since 1996 and hasn't once finished outside the top four, so for that record to change, we have to do what the goons have done to us, go on a superb run of winning games right until the death and that isn't going to happen if we continue to put in performances like we did away to Norwich.

But if we are to stand any chance of catching the goons, we would need a draw agaisnt Chelsea midweek and then our next league game is home agaisnt Arsenal, which if we won would put us 2 points behind Arsenal.

Obviously I would love to see us overtake them but I always said Sherwood finishing top four in his first ever job in football was near on deluded thinking, and while we have had a laugh winding the scousers up about catching them, IMO the top four is now sewn up.

Tottenham are/were the only realistic chance Arsenal had of missing out on top 4, unless they win at Stamford Bridge or Anfield (at least) they can't realistically have any ambition of making top 4 even as an outside bet.

As for United the postponement of the derby is a massive blow for Moyes because it now means he has fixture congestion. In the space of 9 days he could go out of the CL to Olympiakos and lose AT HOME to their TWO biggest rivals. If that happens, I think he'd lose the backing of the majority of United fans for good.

I genuinely think it'll take 75 points to get even 4th this year. The league is just so skewed. 7 or 8 teams are miles ahead of the rest.

Its getting harder each year to finish top four, its now gone from top challengers, to outside title challengers, meaning to finish top four you have to viewed as an outside bet for the title! .........To think we sacked a manager for failing to get 3rd and now we're struggling to finish 5th.
