The Goons on their "laugh at Spurs" thread, have been taking the piss out this thread, and me in particular, with PESKIE chair-leading the chuckles, but what they have all, in their complete and utter ignorance, failed to understand is that this thread is about relative comparisons, not absolutes. LOLdado, who has scored us some goals, cost us a fraction of what Bug Eyes has cost Arsenal, and whilst on an absolute comparison Buggy has fared better, in relative terms he has been the biggest flop.

PESKIE has even tried to argue that I have accepted that I have made a "village idiot" out of myself with this thread by admitting that I was "wrong."

<doh>

Okay, so I know that he is motivated to act the way he does, but I really do think he should spend more time in that cupboard of his (beneath the stairs), rather than embarrass himself so regularly.

If you honestly can't see that Soldado has flopped at Spurs whilst Ozil hasn't flopped at Arsenal, thus Soldado being the bigger flop, then your just an idiot.

Ozil has created more chances for team mates than any player in any of the top 5 european leagues this season. That stat alone (ignoring his goals, assists, impact on the club and players around him etc...) is enough to show he isn't a flop. How can you be a creative player, brought in to create, create more than anyone else but be a flop? By that definition every single number 10 in the league is a total ****ing failure rofl

If you are going to come on here to insult posters, at the very least get your spelling and grammar right. There is nothing more embarrassing to see than some juvenile keyboard warrior telling someone that he's "an idiot" and getting his spelling wrong!

To respond to your point...

For £42 million, you'd expect Buggy to make some chances, and there is absolutely no disputing that, early on, he made a fair few; and had he kept going that that rate we would have all said "money well spent." But, he hasn't kept going at that rate; he's slowed down to the rate of what one would expect from a player who had cost significantly less than £42 million.

Soldado has scored some goal, important ones, too, but not at the rate that one would expect from a striker costing £30 million.

The point we are all making - which you appear to be unable to grasp - is that both players are relative failures (note the word "relative" and go and look it up - hint: I'm not referring to brothers, sisters and cousins). This thread is here to explore who has been the biggest relative failure so far, and on that subject we will each have a different point of view. For anyone to hold a view that is alternative to yours does not make one "an idiot" or give you the right to come onto this board and start throwing your weight around. If you want to insult people who hold a different view to yours, and engage in juvenile slanging matches, please stay on the Gooners' board where such behaviour is de rigeur; we do not tolerate it on this board.

Also, we do not tolerate wumming.

Paragraph 1: Sorry i wasn't aware i had ventured onto some some of literature or grammer discussion. Thought i was posting on a football forum where the vast majority of posters don't bother with correct grammer or worry about spelling. When your resorting to picking apart the construction of someones posti n regards to grammar you're attempting to draw attention away from the points being made. It doesn't make you look superior which i'd guess is your intetion, but instead you come across like a bit of a prick.

Paragraph 2: He doesn't make "some chances", he has created more chances than any player in the top 5 european leagues. That is a stat that is current, so regardless of his handful of quiet games he is still the most creative player in europe. Well worth a large fee.

Paragraph 3: Soldado has scored a few important penalties, and personally i think he is a good player, but for whatever reasons he has failed at Spurs. There is no comparison with him and Ozil as Soladado has consistently not performed wheras Ozil (as back-up up by the stats) has maintained his position at the top of the creativity tables.

Paragraph 3: I got the point you were attempting to make - it's just that you're wrong. It's no failure on my behalf to read your comments, i simply disagree with you. Ozil cannot be the "biggest relative failure" as he hasn't been a failure. That is a point that YOU are failing to grasp. And for you to think a player having a great season (once again this is supported by the stats) is a bigger failure than a player having a poor season, is you being an idiot. It's not about me thinking anyone holding an alternative view is an idiot, just that those who choose to ignore the facts in favour of a clearly invalid opinion are idiots.

And i'm not attempting to join some sort of "juvenile slanging match" i'm just calling a spade a spade. If you display a lack of intelligent thought when analysing a topic you have to expect some people to think your stupid, surely?

And finally the last sentence: 1) Good, wum's shouldn't be welcome on the forums 2) Are you implying i'm being a wum? If so i'd suggest you go find out what it actually means :) 3) It's a half decent attempt at getting a reaction, but no cigar lol

Isn't the "more chances than any other player in Europe" stat from last season, which largely involved passing the ball to Ronaldo?

"Mesut Ozil has created more chances for team-mates (73) than any other player in the top five European leagues this season." - Taken from the BBC today

Care to explain the facepalm or have you conceeded you where wrong and are now resorting to any tactic other than admitting it out loud? :P

The BBC afaik takes their pre-match facts from OptaStats who are rather reliable. It's also a stat that has cropped up repeatedly from different sources (feel free to go and google it and i'm sure you can find more sources confirming the stat). So whilst i won't claim to have counted all the chances made by all the plaeyrs in europe i'm happy to go with the stats provided by the BBC and other stats organisations.

Well he should have good vision really, shouldn't he? <laugh>
Wonder how many of them have been converted? There are chances and there are chances, if you know what I mean.

Ozil's a good player, but I'm not sure he was the right buy for Arsenal. You've got quite a few players competing for his role, while there are other areas of the squad that needed the investment.
You'd have been better off buying Higuain, I think. He's scored 20 goals in all competitions for Rafa Benitez at Napoli already.

Your first line about his vision had me in absolute stitches hahahahahaha

I think given Arsenals failure to break down teams who parked the bus last season and how well we have done in thsoe games this season with Ozil in the team (the difference between being a point off the title and being an outside chance for 4th spot) shows he was the type of player we needed. Although i agree we also needed an additional striker option. Giroud has a goal per 2 games this season but he is anything but clinical. A more lethal striker is definately on our to do list for the summer!

I also think if aplayer like Ozil becomes available you go for it regardless of whether their are other areas thatcould do with being improved first.

I think considering our league position and the impact Ozil has had on that i'd say it has been a good signing.

You're (hint: notice the correct spelling and grammar) talking about an organisation that hires the likes of Lawro and Shearer as pundits! In fact, I bet it was probably Lawro who came up with that so-called stat.

...or have you conceeded you where wrong and are now resorting to any tactic other than admitting it out loud? :P

Quite clearly I have conceded (hint: note the correct spelling) nothing of the kind.

The fact that you have clearly utterly missed the point of this thread, and are still insulting others in a discussion-thread (on a subject you clearly have not grasped) demonstrates why no one should attempt to engage you in any debate on the subject.

Therefore, from now on, I shall resort to using symbols with which to counter your arguments.

So i post a stat that basically completely disproves your opinion and your reply focuses on my grammar and spelling? rofl, that just about sums you up!

It's grammar <ok>

Please, no wumming on this thread.

Actually, I did say that I would now use symbols to respond to you, so...

:emoticon-0172-mooni

Take that, instead.

So, it's 0-0 at Stoke v Arsenal, and Le Prof brings on Buggy, and within 5 minutes Stoke are a goal up and go on to win the game.

Who's the ****tiest player - Buggy or LOLdado?

Hmmmm.

I need to ponder that one a little longer.
