12:45 If the Sauber is on a race run, it appears to have been scuppered. Gutierrez has been in the pits a bit too long for a race stop. Perez, Alonso, Massa and Vergne are still circulating happily. Ricciardo has just joined them again after a 13m stop in the Red Bull.

I keep thinking Ferrari are doing long runs but then they come in after a handful of laps

 

Probably 3 weeks behind everyone else but just chuckled at Mercs hastag #W05sup

Absolutely. If they open it to Renault, then they should do the same for the other teams as everyone is still having issues to varying degrees with the units.

If Renault just want it for themselves then the others will, quite rightly, tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine

Wonder how long they had been running that box for? If it had done the equivalent of 5 GP's then no big deal I guess and it's nearly the end of the day anyway.

13:41 That's our fourth red flag of the day in Bahrain with less than an hour to run. Looks as though the Caterham is to blame.

13:44 The Caterham is covered in fire extinguisher foam, suggesting the car has caught fire on Ericsson's outlap.

 

No problem, Renault can still ask for reliability purposes which still needs to be agreed by Mercedes and Ferrari.

 

......but at what point does reliability concerns become an incompetence fact?

It's more to do with the fact, 'If you don't f**k me over I wont f**k you over when the day comes that you get a major problem.'

Ferrari and Mercedes don't need Renault to f**k them back in the future at some point. Renault might go through the whole season vetoing everything the other 2 need in which will escalate the cost for everybody racing for next season, the fans will suffer having cars go slower than others and this with making things harder for everybody involved in F1.

If Ferrari or Mercedes veto any reliability changes for Renault after now , IT WILL! escalate into a full blown war right back at them.


What happens if Ferrari or Mercedes encounters a major problem come China? Oh dear, don't think Renault will allow that to happen...
