They had him on the local news earlier..His dad took him to all the Sunderland games while he grew up, then he decided to support the mags...I can't even begin to comprehend his mentality, and if any of my kids ever done what he has done I would be devastated..

Peer pressure is a mare. Chunky kid anal which will have made it tougher for him to fit in. He's obviously chosen his team to suite the group he wanted to fit in with.

This, doesnt take away the fact he went against the grain and wants to respect his dad

My wife is one of 6 brothers and 2 sisters and we have one mag in the bunch, purely to go against the grain, he is a tosser btw

But would still show respect for his dad
 
Feel for him. My dad is having a big heart op next week at 82 and frankly I'm bricking it.

Fortunately the old fellah's red and white through & through.. <ok>
 
My family were pretty much divided between the two clubs but there was no animosity with them or their friends. Losing his father is bad enough, and if wearing one of our shirts at Wembley is his tribute to him then he is to be admired and most certainly congratulated.

Doubtless only the more insensitive of the B&W fans would have something stupid to say.
 
There are thousands of genuine fans who can't get tickets, so as far as I'm concerned he is just an impostor taking up a seat..

He's not though, he's sitting in his sunderland supporting deceased fathers seat wearing his deceased fathers safc top, ffs man, its what he would have wanted.

Imagine

If the love of your life was safc and your son was a mag and you had tried all the ****s life to try and understand why the **** he chose to do it (to go against the grain).

I don't buy this mate...He was taken to all the Sunderland games by his late dad, but then changed his allegiance...I bet that broke his old mans heart, because I would be devastated if one of my kids done that..

He is a bigger man than Sheerah who was so po faced he would not do it for comic relief.

My Dad and his Dad were mags yet I supported Sunderland, I did it not out of spite but choice, my Mother and her Dad were Sunderland supporters.

Its a pity we all cannot show this guy the respect he deserves and more importantly respect his father who I'm sure would be touched by his son's show of love for him.

Some thing drew him to support Newcastle, the last time I checked we defeated Hitler, people had freedom of choice and course you can say what you want.

He changed his allegiance from being a Sunderland fan to being a Mag..He was on TV earlier saying that he came to all the Sunderland games with his dad, but then decided to support the mags...This is something that I can't even begin to comprehend..
 
I thought his Dad took him to both the SOL and Sid James when he was a kid, plus his Dad missed the 92 final because he was born that weekend total respect to the Lad!

i get that mate, but i dont see it that way, i see it as going against the grain, saw it at school and seen it in my adopted family, if the truth be known he is probably an safc at heart (like my particularly hideous bro-in-law is) but likes the leverage.

needless to say as a mag he wont be getting to wembley soon <cheers>

Caught a bit of that before I went to work this morning but I thought they said his dad died in 2012 - just I was wondering how he got the ticket if that was the case?
 
I don't see why people would have anything negative to say about this really. I support Newcastle as I'm from there (well Whitley Bay) but my dad is a Leeds fan, my mother is - for her sins - a mackem and my sons will probably support Everton or Liverpool as that's where they're brought up.

I don't get the idea that they have to support the team I support, I'd prefer my children to have their own minds and choose their own paths. If they support my team then great but I'd happily go along to Anfield with them if that's the team the pick and I suspect they would have no issue coming to see Newcastle with me.
