April 1 already is it? Has to be a fake. How can you suspend a season ticket which has already been paid for. Mind you given the likely result suspension may be a blessing.

According to the Metro it's real. Apparently in their new Ts&Cs at the beginning of the season they brought this rule in. I think the way a Man U season ticket works is that if you fail to buy additional tickets for cup matches, the club reserves the right to suspend you for the next league match. The club is obliged to refund you if they resell your ticket, but only at the end of the season...

That's dirty

But if it's in the terms and conditions, not blackmail

Also I imagine they have problems with wealth fans based elsewhere who so up to some but not all games which reflects badly on there attendance figures and just looks bad when you see the stadium. Not to mention the large numbers of other fans who would love to be able to go to a game but can't afford a season ticket. this is a way of freeing up the seat of those people to other fans. Im not defining them but i can understand their motivation.

Just goes to show how much of a mug you have to be to be a man u fan lol

If you want it from the horse's mouth: http://www.manutd.com/~/media/F38F93619BF0401193A66DCA15DA5534.ashx

Reading through the first page, it seems like every season ticket holder over 16 years old has to provide a valid payment method (credit card) to buy tickets for every home cup game (although you can opt out of the League cup, leaving the FA cup and europe presumably?). If you opt out of the league cup though, it becomes harder for you to get away tickets in the future, for league and cup matches. There's also some lovely, tight regulations on U16's opting out, making it easy to slip up, resulting in them charging you for a ticket. The club will automatically take payment for home cup games (and won't tell you they've done so), and they don't guarantee you'll get your normal seat. For every cup game that your payment details aren't valid for, or you opt out of, your season ticket "may" be suspended for one home league match. The Man City match would be the first home match after the Olympiakos game, but the Liverpool match is after the deadline to buy tickets by, so they may have had the chance to suspend tickets for that game if they so desired. It also sounds like they'll charge you the booking fee for the ticket you haven't bought anyway.

There's seemingly no discount on cup tickets either if you're a season ticket (well, £5 for being a member), making the cheapest home cup ticket £31 a game, irrespective of opposition. That's ridiculous.

Are you sponsored by Medion? :-P

It's tapatalk it automagically attaches a sig of your device

Don't know if it's still available (I think so?), but there's a dedicated not606 android app in existence, which doesn't add anything to your posts. I believe it was created because tapatalk didn't offer certain site functionalities, but the not606 app does. Never used tapatalk, so can't comment on how accurate that is though. The not606 app is pretty good though.

Thing is with tapatalk it's one app that manages all your accounts for all forums. It's not compulsory I just forgot to turn it off last time I reinstated the app.

I have half dozen forums I use and it's handier that apps for each one etc is all

For iPhone it's no longer available, hadn't been updated for several years. Shame really as I used it a lot but changed my phone and now can't downloaded it.

Other forums? That's blasphemy! <laugh>

An app that manages all your accounts for all forums?

Is it just me that wonders what the hell this all means, and suggests the world has gone a little crazy?

No offence by the way Rich, it's just old me not really getting it. Hope you're keeping ok mate. <ok>

I am amazed that they can do this and that people accept it. That really is taking liberties with fans loyalty. quite despicable behaviour from the plc.

When you're a club as big as United though, fans are pretty expendable. Even if you annoy 20,000 season ticket holders into quitting, there'll probably be 5 times that prepared to pay the new prices. Football fans are hardly going to take their business elsewhere either, although it is nice to see some kind of revival in lower league attendances of late. Not that any of that defends the policy though! From a PR perspective surely it makes more sense just to charge more and include x number of cup games? Refund fans an appropriate amount if there's fewer cup games, and any extra games are a bonus. You can still enforce the draconian "attend or you forfeit a game" policy, but from a PR perspective that sounds a lot nicer to me.
