Anders Svensson has retired from international football, aged 37. He represented Sweden on 148 occasions, beating the record set by Ravelli, who picked up 143 caps. Svensson played at two World Cups and two European Championships, but Ronaldo ended his hopes of going to the 2014 World Cup.
Yep, and I watched him closely when he came on for Sweden for his 148th cap, and he was bloody good. I was really surprised how much influence he immediately had on the game.
He is very old. I'm sure he will appeal and play the "I had no idea" card, now over to our Croatian correspondent to tell us if it is right or not........
Having lived in Croatia and Serbia for the last 10 years I've found that the ex-pats from these countries go way over the top with their nationalism (and I believe Josip Simunic has lived all his life in Australia?) The locals have to live here. Probably " I had no idea" is about right.
Seems like Sam Gallagher has switched allegiance to England, as some of us speculated. Has been called up for the England U19s alongside Targett, Reed and Chambers.
Southampton's Three Lions star in this exclusive music video... http://www.singitkitty.co.uk/play/Nyy7c I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
England call-ups... U19: Calum Chambers, Matthew Targett, Harrison Reed, Sam Gallagher. U21: James Ward-Prowse SENIOR: Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, Rickie Lambert.
