I have a plan to buy the club, okay l am going to get the 250 million as a short term loan from Wonga and pay it back next payday.

The interest rate will be ......... Oh dear ................ Plan B anyone, where is that bucket Lady E?

It makes reasonable sense. £225 - £250m would see Ashley get his money back, maybe even turn a bit of a profit. He seems to have decided to simply let the club coast along for the rest of the season. One reading of that might be that he intends leaving all decisions to the new owners.

or it could be bollocks

I can't help but wonder about his stake in Rangers being a factor in all of this.

They are far more likely to get into the Champions League before we ever do again so maybe he's just doing enough to keep us ticking along until such time as he decides the time is right to cut all ties and head north of the border and spunk some of his trousered coin into revamping their squad for an assault in Europe.

Could be a bit of a gamble...but we all know he likes a bit of a flutter.
