Nego must have been a Roland signing. We've needed cover at RB all season, so it would be baffling if Sir Chris didn't have someone in his sights whom he would want to bring in given the chance. If we knew what went on in this case it might give an insight into how things are working now.
Same old recycled rubbish. The most entertaining aspects are the anecdotes, but what use are they when we're sat in the bottom 3?
From the meeting... "RD is very aware of the danger of relegation and is as worried about it as we are (and was aware before he bought the club). He is not a man who wants to be associated with failure. With that in mind Richard confirmed that we could expect 2 or 3 loan signings in the near future who would bring Championship / Premiership experience and a solid grounding in the English game." So with that in mind is anybody else a little concerned to see our rivals pumping up their squads with proven quality, whilst we settle for the usual..."Cheque's in the post" scenario... "We could expect"...... I'm getting bored with the vacuous predictability... It's been going on for as long as I can remember, and that's a long time! Regardless of what anybody thinks about the manager, this squad as it stands is not good enough for the challenge ahead... It was stale after the August clear out, and has arguably got staler after the last "Charlton sell their best player" transfer window... We're in desperate need of proven Championship quality players, and even if that happens we have a job on, but without them as we stand relegation is inevitable... So "in the near future" just isn't good enough, now is what matters... Fixtures are piling up, and if Doncaster was "one game too many" what the hell excuse are we in for with the pile up ahead... Bottom line, are we going to see any action now..?
We need 3 players minimum. CP talk about our defensive record not being too bad, but I'd be happy to see another experienced head come in to the centre back position to assist Morro. Then we need 2 proven Premiership/Championship players - for either wing and someone in the middle. A striker would be lovely, but I think Reza and hope Peter can do the job there. I even think Sordell would bag some goals if he is able to stand around in the opposition area. Will we see that? I predict 2 mediocre loans.
It's become so stale i can't come to commenting, except that action needs to be taken now, this week.
Hit the nail on the head, Oz. It's a stale issue until we see some genuine improvements, be it results or expenditure. I'm expecting nothing from the press conference, though a good PR exercise would be to announce the loan signing of a player who could significantly improve our squad. But any player available are seemingly being snapped up by the Massives or Doncaster.
Maybe I'm being pedantic, but what I want is a player who would improve the TEAM, as opposed to the squad, but that might be a pipe-dream.
An old legged SWP and the much maligned SCP being offered pages to sign will not set the fans on fire in the positive way !
Duchatelet's lack of urgency regarding getting Championship standard loans in, is baffling. We have two crucial home games now within 4 days - we need 6 points from them, followed by a massive game at our relegation rivals Millwall, not to mention a couple of very winnable cup games which could see us reach a Wembley semi final. Surely this is the time for some proactivity and oomph to bolster our very weak squad ? If he doesn't strengthen it just increases the suspicion that he is content to swallow a needless and hugely damaging relegation this season because it chops £4m off the fee he has to pay to the Chuckle Brothers. Are we seriously expecting Johnnie Jackson to play two x 90 mins over the next week, on that pudding of a pitch?
I would rather we sign no-one than the sort of loaned rubbish we have signed since the Premiership days. I can accept the sub-standard imports from RD's other clubs if their wages are largely subsidised, which might be the case. Much talk about Millwall, Barnsley and Yeovil making signings, but I don't see them helping those clubs very much. Three good quality loan signings would see us safe. Could be veterans with not much future if they still have some legs and hunger, as RD is apparently keen on bringing our own youngsters through in the coming seasons. Need to be better than Gower and Hulse though.
Williams is being linked with you lot on loan. I hope not .He might sink into your bog of a pitch never to return again.
Listening to RD's interview this week and digesting his sheer lack of ambition or affinity for CAFC made me want to puke. His laughable claim that Richard Murray stays as a "connection" between the Flem and the Fan is risible. Murray has only ever communicated with the same half dozen Charlton fans in the last 15 years. They all wear cardigans and kagools and look as if they last washed their hair in 1975. The charge sheet against Murray is plain: - calamity upon calamity since Curbs left - 4 dud managers - 2 relegations - brink of administration - small share holders mugged off - assets sold off - the Chuckle Brothers - "the RD Experiment" And yet, incredibly, Murray still hangs around.
I have to say that this 'lap dog' role he has taken on since the Rat took over is doing him no favours
http://www.london24.com/sport/champ...bout_duchatelet_s_transfer_comments_1_3398083 I especially like the sentences Nice one Kyle..... what the feck have you been drinking for the last 5 years
Murray is the first, in what will become a complete collection of puppets for Roley to pull strings on... Murray's latest piece of propaganda is telling us we now have a massive scouting network across Europe... He always forgets to tell the whole truth though...Not just our scouts are they Dicky..? I haven't forgotten all those club tie ups he used to big up, but got absolutely nothing from...
