I said I refuse to believe Man City can win the quadruple with Hart in goal and that clown doesn't let me down! But re City's tactics. Man City, richest club in the world set out to park the bus and hit on the counter, tactical masterclass. Crystal Palace and West Ham set out to park the bus and hit on the counter, anti football. Lack of respect there for smaller clubs who set out to do what's best for their club.
Well, that's what happens when you park the bus against Barca. £ity lost a poor game in which they played poorly. It was Mourhino-style dull defensive footy played at its worst.
I always judge bus parking by its duration and desperation. Compared to Chelsky in 2012, Citeh were Arry 2011-12 tonight.
It's the pressure of failure - it makes managers conservative. SAF never gave in to it, nor Wenger (although he succombed to his own egotistical beliefs) or Guardiola. If you don't believe you can beat them, you won't. This team averages 4 goals per game at home, FFS - why is there no belief?
I've defended Pellegrini but he bottled it as while I have no issues with any team parking the bus to get a result, as you say it wasn't playing to their strengths. Why play Kolarov at left wing, just because he can cross the ball. Kolarov is good at running from deep when city have the opposition pushed back. Barca are a fab team but Pellegrini screwed up the tactics and basically said he's scared of Barca.
The effect of losing Aguero this time is astonishing, his return seemed to interrupt Dzeko and Negredo's run, managerial decision gone wrong there perhaps, can't argue he rushed Aguero initially.
Roy Keane on ITV....City fans must be so pleased they chose him to pundit! After Vincent Kompany's bullish interview..."I think he's a bit tired there and doesn't know what he's talking about!"
City have never impressed in the CL, and it seems like failure breeding failure at this point. They were creating all the decent chances for a while. It was interesting, because in space Barca were too quick and skillful for City, but near both goals City were too big and strong for Barca. But: one bad pass and one terribly judged tackle, and it's all over: Navas and Dimichelis (sp), the latter especially one you might pick out as not really being top class. I'll agree Pelligrini does look worse losing and playing cautiously then getting badly beaten playing the football they've been playing all year. On the other hand, I always would rather rivals stay in cups up to a point, and I doubt this result is really what Chelsea or Arseanal wanted, so therefore I kind of like it.
Such a poor wum! Have you really learnt nothing from the time spent studying me? At the very least you have to base your windups on a smattering of the truth!
Where's the flan smiley.........it'll have to do! Worst wum ever or utterly clueless....most likely both.
Yeah, I get what you mean, and I tend to agree with your point. Perhaps, The Smug One will shortly be telling us that Pelligrini specializes in failure?
Roy Keane again, host asks him, " Roy, can you make a case for them in Barcelona"?...."no"..."can you expand on that please Roy"......"no".
I'm waiting for the day Keane gets called a failed manager, live on air. Someone must have the bottle! ............ Taking that aside, I'll give him that one!
I love Roy Keane, even when he slates us, because he is rarely wrong. He's absolutely brutal about everyone.
Always on the edge, Keano. Can't help thinking he's eyeing up Chiles and Dixon, ready to deck them both, thinking "what you feckin' looking at". No prisoners ever taken.
Not the most eloquent response, granted. But then he's right, of course, City don't have a prayer. Plus, he probably thinks that Chiles is a total twat anyway, just like 99% of the rest of us....
Blame me.I asked if City could win 4 trophies.Must have put the curse on them! I'll try again. Can City win 3 trophies..........?
