Never read too far into a missed penalty these days. I reckon players are instructed to hit them in the bottom corner, only the most special pen is unsaveable in the bottom corner, its just a lottery which way the keeper decides to go. Prozzy always looked an excellent technician, would score goals for fun if given the ball near goal in space, just a proper fanny and pushed about easier than you could push a 5 year old about, for a player with no pace that's always going to be a problem in England with our physical style of play. If he's spent the last year and a bit in the gym, put a couple of lbs on and built up some muscle, he could be an asset at any level of the game. Better footballer than Jelavic in my honest opinion, but Jelavic is far stronger, and also very clever.
You mean that game he scored in to level the scores and spark our comeback? That penalty was a great penalty, was just a good save.
great penalties end up in the back of the net - his penalty was at a nice height for the keeper and not close enough to the post - that is **** in my books - anyway you can defend him if you like - Brucie must have thought he was **** cos he farmed him out, most of the Championship thought he was **** too cos only Barnsley were prepared to take him - history will put that 15 minute wait at the end of the Cardiff game into Hull City folklore as an 'I was there moment' but it could have been so different, Prozzy did miss an absolute sitter and he did miss the pen, so he could have been one of the most vilified players in our history, so let's not try and give him credit for scoring a goal - he never was good enough, Brucie ****ed up big time in buying him, hopefully he's gone to pastures new - let's wish him good luck
He didnt miss a pen against Cardiff. His penalty was saved. ****ing drives me mad when people say someone missed a pen when it was on target. Any other shot on target during normal play and you wouldn't say he missed.
don't be daft - that's like saying if somebody is prevented from getting on a plane because they are stopped by traffic that they didn't miss the plane but they were saved by the traffic - they missed the plane and he missed the ****ing penalty
I've kept that goal on Sky+ and I'm still not sure whether it was Proschwitz or the Cardiff defender who got the touch.
Proschwitz never got a fair chance, unlike Simpson. If he'd actually been given a proper chance when we settled in the 352 formation, I reckon he'd have got at least 15 last season.
If Meyler, McShane, Bruce Jnr, Boyd, Sagbo, Fryatt can get in the 1st team EPL, there's no reason Nick can't, because he's more talented than all of them. He was never given a chance in the Championship as McGregor said above and we all know who was given the playing time in the first half of the season. I like Jelavic a lot and glad he's here, but I also think that Nick would play off Shane Long very well, even if it was for the last 20 mins. Look at his first goal for Barnsley, not a screamer, not pretty, but a good opportunist strikers goal. And you can go on about Cardiff all day long, but he did score that day AND it really didn't help the fact that half the fechin KC stadium were on the pitch 30 seconds before the penalty was taken. Then there's Ipswich, did he not score 2 strikers goals that day?? Yes Were we not losing before he popped up with the 2 goals?????? Yes Would we have been promoted if he hadn't scored those goals????? NO
No, it's absolutely nothing f**king like that. So when the stat appears 'shots/attempts on target' during a game, do you scream at the TV "it should be number of misses on target"?
He was brought in as our first choice striker, he was dropped because he wasn't good enough, two goals against Donny doesn't change that.
It amused me a little, listen on Saturday afternoon to Sky, and the reporter at the game said the Prossy out muscled the defender to score. Is this the same Prossy we know and love?
Of course it changes that. It shows he is a finisher and can score in the Championship, something he never got a proper crack at and it's for a side a lot worse than us. I was never a huge fan but he deserved a better run than he got. All in the past and we definitely now have 2 superior strikers anyway.
I thought Proschwitz was shockingly **** when with us. Such high expectations when he signed, and it was garbage. He needs it on a plate, with time and space, otherwise he wilts and sulks.
Did you write that before the game if so he must have been listening! Here a bit of the Yorkshire Post report: "Rovers failed to deal with a cross, Jack Hunt headed the ball back in and Proschwitz risked a clattering as he headed the ball over a hesitant Sam Johnstone before knocking the ball home." Good on you Nick!
