Ho hum at least we won the one that matters - not too concerned we are still a work in progress and will continue to be until we have a decent striker and a balanced defence. At this stage of the game we've barely enough firepower to cope with the league let alone a cup run. As for the game winning two on the trot at the Etihad was always going to be a tall order - let's be honest most of us would've been happy and were expecting at best a draw out of those two games. City were always going to hit us - I'm just grateful it wasn't the league game....onwards.
Extremely average team with the best manager in the world. In contrast City have a slightly above average manager with (some of) the best players in the world.
Too many tired legs, too many players who think their spot is safe playing below their ability. Azpi-Ivan-Cahill-Cole Luiz-Matic Schurrle - Oscar - Hazard Torres Should have been the team
Ho hum! I can live with this! We've won this trophy 4 times in the last 7 years! What are absolutely the key targets are the PL and CL! If we can focus on bringing home these trophies, tonights result will not be important!
Bad day at the office. Team looked jaded to me. Badly need JT back as defence looks less secure without him. City did their homework well and learned from the last day. Only small consolation i can see from this is if City go all the way to the final (which looks likely) their extra games (C 1 final, FA and postponed matches) could catch up on them. Everton match now takes on extra importance. Hope the milkman arrives early saturday morning !!!
Agree totally. Joses treatment of Cole is beginning to look very childish. He is better than Azpi at left back and Azpi should be played in his best spot, right back. Ivan needs a rest and Cahills great form dipped for this game, though he was not alone there. Not much doubt though that Matic and Luiz should have started together again, we were totally over run whereas last time it was just the opposite. Think Jose got quite a few things wrong this time, but he did try and mix it up a bit but it didn't work out. City and Pellegrini were both better and good luck to them, they have wonderful players for every position and their 2nd stringers fit in so you can't see the join. We need replacements as good as our first squad, and are still not there by some way. Time for some youth to be occasionally injected, or else the cheque book will have to overheat again. Credit to our squad for being where they are with less good players than City.
I was also surprised at team selection, why Mikel from the off, and does anyone know why Cole is not playing JCC87 I would have gone with your choice as well Schurrle being a bigger player would have had more impact, we won zilch in the air and City went out there with a bully boy attitude. Brute force and ignorance as my ol' Mum used to say. Fair play to City they deserved that win as we were ****e
Yeah lad "abysmal anti football" is a 'fact' then? & not just some wum morons subjective opinion? Maybe to a kopite....
Shocking. We were chasing shadows and had no invention at all. my biggest moan was mikel playing the whole match. Maybe its a lack of games but he is absolutely shocking. No work rate slows our passing down. Weak and cant tackle. Barely offers an outball. To see him caught upfield for that second goal and casually jog back whilst nasri who is not the quickest runs at our defence was a disgrace
