John Obi Mikel Way Of Playing Central Midfield 1. Stand around and wait for someone else to win the ball back 2. When such ball is won back, ask to b given the ball. 3. Look for a possible forward pass that will open up the opposition, but then decide it is better to pass the ball back or sideways. 4. Cost us the game by being useless
Have been a solid supporter of Mikel all his career, but now honestly don't see him fitting in to the team anymore. Best for everyone if he goes to a club that will let him play as he does for his country.Don't agree that he should be the object of such apparent hate. Whilst on the subject of players fans love to hate, would gladly swap Kalou for Ba or Eto'o. Whatever you thought of him, he did score occasionally.
Can't blame Mikel for being picked. jose and a whole host of managers know exactly what he brings and still keep picking him. There has to be a reason because if not you're suggesting they are stupid and don't know what they are doing. Cue the danishbore
no idea as I reckon hes only genuinely had about 5 good games his whole career. Maybe they been playing to much fpptball manager or hes got some dirt on roman so roman makes the managers pick him but he is a shocking defensive midfielder. Hes big yes but no positioning and more importantly no brain or bite. I just dont see what he offers Hopefully he gets sold off and plays in his beloved amc position he apparantly does so good in for nigeria (except he has no vision or cannot shoot but he can turn on the ball alright) Just glad we bought matic. Disciplined powerful great tackler can drift past players and good short pass (his long range passing was awful all them wasted over hit over the tops but I will take that as he is good at other things) I would even take ramires in that positioneven though he arguably less technical than mikel. Can at least see theres positives about him whereas with mikel I might as well just pay frank bruno to just sit in the middle and do nothing
Mikel was poor but unfair to single out one player. Very few positives from anyone. Azpi did ok and I thought Matic was good again (baring some over hit long balls) but not a lot of positives to take from the rest. Ramires was woeful, lost count of the amount of time he got beat to a ball cos he was unaware of what was going on around him. Luiz not much better. What exactly was the point of the Salah sub? Oscar should have been first sub on. Least he was getting between the lines and looking a little likely to do something. Overall we gave the likes of Toure and Silva far too much time on the ball to influence things. Probably a result of playing midweek but still, can't believe how ineffective we were with the ball. First time this season when I can say we were completely outplayed all over the park for 90 mins. Fair play to City. Having Garcia and Milner really helped their midfield, us losing JT and Luiz from midfield hampered us.
The team played mid week, while city had their game called off and were playing at home or has everyone forgotten that little fact. As for Mikel = European Cup, Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup and Premier league titles Mikel >>>> My Arse >>>> Mud on my Boots >>>> No marks on internet forum!
Posting late as they say time is a great healer. I saw little fight as it became clear Citeh were taking control. Cech showed no captaincy. I saw no one talk to anyone else other than to complain. The ability was there to match and beat Man C. Only the players know why they couldn't be arsed other than to turn up so they each got a match fee.
this is a huge over reaction OP. We played mid week away against a battling team + We played Mikel + City got bye for their HOME game (They didn't even travel). Huge difference! P.S. Is it just me or playing Mikel makes our team 10 players and opposition 12 players.
