Lim probably had faith in Malkys accounting... Lim would probably only find out once the monthly accounts were done and the accountants reported the overspend. Malky would probably have probably had an analyst reporting his figure each month.
I believe Malky was like a kid in a candy shop when he got his budget but wouldn't have been overly concerned with the cost ramping up, however, when the monthly reporting came around he'd have **** bricks.
No one knows what Malkys personal sign off level was and if it required 2 signatories perhaps his and Moodys were all that was needed.
Personally I think Malky was given too much responsibility as a 'manager' and should have been given the coaching role. All the above is based on observations and a possible scenario, I have no idea what happened so thought I'd throw out the above scenario because it does happen.

If you took advice from a tax accountant whilst filing your tax return and it resulted in you paying more tax than you should, and when you asked him how this happened, his reply being. 'Well you signed it off'. I believe you would be reasonably annoyed, and would probably relieve this expert of his duties.

Short memories.

Malky Mackay inherited a squad in a total shambles.

Within 2 years he had taken us to the play offs , a cup final and the Football League Championship meaning the club got a £120m windfall (or something like that).

This season anyone being reasonable would have said the target would be survival.

Last time I looked we were in a position of survival when he left.

Cornelius was cr@p! Mistake lets get over it. Other clubs have made worse and more costly mistakes in the summer.

Malky Mackay may or may not have kept us up. But he was treated like sh!t by our board and his job made impossible.

Lim is just a mouthpiece anyway. Doubt these are his words.

Malky Mackay deserves respect for his what he achieved.

Agreed he deserves respect for what he achieved, but he also deserves the criticism for what he didn't, and that was to spend a substantial budget on quality players who would ensure (as far as you can) Premier football next season.

He got us out of the Championship with the financial backing of Tan, and that should never be forgotten. He also failed along with Moody to take the next step up and organise a squad of sufficient quality commensurate with the cash made available. If he'd had no money and a limited remit, most would have had far more sympathy for him.

As it was, he struck out and could have cost us our Premier place for next season. If Ole does it with the approx £6M he's had, he will be the one to praise, not Mackay.

clubs around us have gone from strength to strength (teams like west ham, sunderland etc) and thats why we're now lounging in the drop zone.

before the season started i predicted 12th as we signed a few proven performers, compared with average teams like hull and palace signing a lower level of player.

the premierleague is what it is and managers get little time, its a high risk high reward business and thats why he went.

but no hilts, i very much doubt malky justified spending over £30m and high wages to the board on the basis of finishing 17th. after losing £30m in the championship winning season we're getting to QPR figures and we should have been higher, like it or not. i've no doubt malky was the right man to take us back up if we went down, but it would have been a risk to go on another spending binge in the summer with him at the helm. i understand the boards reasoning for going for OGS in that sense........

Don't see why both Lim and Dalman are at the club - Lim seems to offer nothing other than be a mouthpiece for the owner, and this statement is obviously his, but we need to recognise a few things.

If Tan hadn't changed the club colours, there would hardly be a word said against him over this. Mackay would be history and very few would perpetuate the illusion that Tan is some sort of anti-Christ. The sacking of Mackay was siezed upon by an ever willing media circus who recognised a good story - or just cherry-pick bits to create one.

The Mackay/Moody dismissals must have seemed like manna from heaven for the anti-Tan faction. Now some flesh is being put on the bones as to the reasons behind them, hopefully confusing the club colour change with otherwise effective stewardship of the club by the owner will fade away - but I somehow doubt it.

if we go down it will be due to a variety of factors. tan is probably least blameworthy out of him, malky and OGS. yes he sacked the manager, but he backed him heavily in the transfer market and did so again with OGS.

Makes no sense that comment. What else could Tan have done? As the owner he gave Malky a massive warchest. His sacking of Malky has shown to have been justified and would have been done by nearly all owners. Ole is the only bad decision he has made I think, but we had already started the slide before MM was sacked.

So Malky and Ole and the players will have to take the largest portion of the blame for our relegation.

This is the only light in a world of darkness, Dai is known for getting things badly wrong about Cardiff so this has to be considered a tremendous boost for us.
