I actually believe that Mourhino is right to have a pop at Winger. Ultimately, all he has said is what we all know and believe, anyway. And, as much as I might have a pop at Mourhino - mainly in a vain attempt to wind up the Chavs - I genuinely believe he is currently the best manager in the world.
Ridiculous decision, they got a well earned point off United and nearly did the same with Liverpool, I'm sure they'd have stayed up.
It says a lot that, when you say that a club in Fulham have sacked two managers in a season, most people assume you mean the one that plays in blue...
Just another thought about Sir Tom Finney. I can remember my first season at Spurs as a kid.One match, towards the end of the season v Preston,I was hoping to watch Sir Tom but he was out injured. They played this young lad, name of Campbell. He ran rings around us and we got hammered at the Lane 2-6! Mind you,our push and run team had got old together by then, most of them and several were gone by the start of the following season with Bill Nick "keeping his position warm for his replacement" who turned out to be Danny Blanchflower. Danny made his debut at Manchester City in a 0-0 draw.Manager Arthur Rowe remarked "that was the first time for somewhile I sat back and enjoyed the match. Bill,of course, became coach,Sir Tom played another 5/6 seasons but whatever happened to that lad Campbell...heaven knows.Never heard of him again!
What was more ridiculous, hiring Meulensteen (which was a mistake) or sacking Meulensteen ? I always had the view Meulensteen would make a fairly hopeless manager as he isn't a manager, hes a coach so I don't blame Fulham for panicking as they shouldn't have hired him in the first place and considering they are Bottom, there is nothing to suggest Meulensteen could get them out of the mess.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26129097 So is Guardiola a great manager or just lucky to have managed the two best club sides in recent history?
The media are suggesting that Redknapp had some influence in Bayern preparing for their game against Arsenal by training at Loftus Road on Wednesday. Sounds unlikely and various other sides have done the same thing before ties in London, but it makes good press, I guess. The Germans have had another easy win today, beating Freiburg 4-0. 13 consecutive league wins now, with City being the only side to win a competitive game against them this season. That didn't end up meaning anything, either.
Looks like Chavs are going to take a severe beating, tonight. It was expected, I suppose. They have been rather lucky with some of their recent results.
Shots: Man City 13 Chelsea 3 On Target: Man City 6 Chelsea 0 Pellegrini just took out the cane and gave Moron a damn good thrashing. Even better, AVB managed better at the Etihad this season!
What? Better stats, maybe. I'd have to check. Not a better scoreline, though. Looks rather careless of Mourinho to call somebody a specialist in failure only to immediately get knocked out of a cup though, doesn't it?
Chelsea didn't bother to turn up, shame ruined what could have been a decent match. They were lucky though, Pelligrini took his foot off the gas after 70 minutes. Lescott had a decent goal disallowed. Should have been 3 or 4, possibly more but it petered out. The whistle should have been blown sooner.
Moron should've learned during his time in Spain: talking **** about the teams around you doesn't work when those teams put you firmly in your place.
Jose. You can be a silly girl's blouse without even trying! I wonder if the oil man has penciled in your replacement yet?
All quality WUMs get shown up eventually, but Jose would know that himself, as he enjoys the mind games, going back and forth and that's why he's desperately trying to get a reaction. Just nowadays there are less 'mouthy' coaches to exchange words with. Not enough personalities in the game.
I've got to say that Chelski were embarrassing, yesterday, against £ity. It's as though their entire team simply could not be arsed. Mourhino is going to have to work hard with these players, because they did not play like a team that wanted to win for him, and I know he will hate that.
