On another note, the nations of Europe should have kept their seperate currency. A few nations have benifited whilst a few have crashed.

Something that the SNP clearly doesn't want for some reason or another - if they really don't want to saddle the rest of the UK with all the debt when they go there has to be a bloody good reason for it. And don't even try and pretend it's any form of altruism - even you would struggle to get away with that one<laugh>.

    Wikipedia disagrees.

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 28 member states that are located primarily in Europe

Apparently you're talking ****e, through and through.

It's purely political. Easier to convince doubting Labour supporters to vote Yes if we stick with the pound than start with a new currency. I still stick to it being nothing more than scaremongering by Tories, Labour and Lib Dems and I suspect it'll backfire on them.

    Correct Dan.

The SNP want to keep sterling and arrogantly thought that the rest of the UK would just agree to it.

    Saints.

What have I answered myself? I already knew the EU was a political union and that Archers point was so flimsy even a spastic such myself could easily pick it apart.

They will agree to it ER - when the separation talks start both sides are going to want to tie up as much as they can as quickly as possible so as to then focus on the really difficult bits. There'll be no earthly point in arguing the toss about the currency as that will screw us both up in terms of global economic confidence - I just don't see any disadvantage for either side in agreeing to it. Makes sense all round and hopefully will be seen as a sign that they can work togther rather than act like petulant kids at every turn.

    Enlighten me then?

You rarely of fact or opinion on here. You just babble ****e.

So what's your opinion on why Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal are struggling with the Euro? I know why, because it's a huge benefit to Germany as they have the strongest economy. I wonder why Greece were considering a return there own currency? Probably because they're doing so well.

And you live in Australia? Who gives a **** what you think. Your shagging some bird you met on the internet 15 years ago that got you the green card <ok>

You mean why are countries around the world struggling with finance? Do you remember the 2008 crash saints?

Do you seriously believe the pound is some untouchable super currency? because its lost value to the euro for the past 5 years.

It is - it's kept parity with the US and Aussie dollars, the Yen etc etc. <whistle> I actually think the only currency it has out performed is the Erritrean shilling and even that's touch and go
