Today there are 79 clubs between us and our very dear friends down the road.

Is this the greatest the gap has ever been?

Haha, I seem to remember a post when we were in L1 when they had a gap of 33 places, this sure feels nicer!

    Good grief Godders, you're obsessed.

I'll have you know, he's been on his most silent run regarding Pompey for some years!

The work isn't done yet! Still 9 league places to go until the mighty Salisbury Whites go marauding past them!

You're right, it's time we started taking Salisbury and Eastleigh a lot more seriously.

    Yes they are.

You don't change your local rivals in the same way you don't chop and change the club you support.

Pompey maybe a complete shambles of ****ting shambles on a ****ty stick right now... but local rivals they remain.

We may not play them again for a very long time, but what's gone on before still stands.

79 club gap is not nearly enough, 100 would be a nice round number?

Have to agree....Pompey would have to go right out of the league and be there a while before they stop being our rivals. I cannot see that happening personally. They are struggling but they will be back up to the top of that league before you know it.

I think he was referencing a really old Godders post on here. He said something like "can we all stop posting about pompey, they're so far away from us we can't consider them rivals anymore.

After the Stoke game, my dad rushed up to me after going to the toilet and he asked me what the Pompey score was and I thought to myself "I actually don't give a ****!".

Considering how quickly we recovered our top league status. Pompey could be back up very quickly with the right owner.

You are 100% right and I agree. I almost reluctantly point out that I believe the poster was taking the piss out of Godders ;)

I didn't know Brighton were League 79 places below us!! Thought they were within 20 just being outside the play-offs in the Championships!!
