Considering how quickly we recovered our top league status. Pompey could be back up very quickly with the right owner.

If they had spent some of their Premiership windfall on a new stadium and academy facilities, I could see it happening. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make the move upwards more permanent. Now there is no chance whatsoever of anyone with proper money taking them over; there are too many candidates well above them with better set ups available for purchase. I suspect they'll just settle down into league 2 with the occasional foray into league 1 until the sun explodes.

The league table really doesn't look good for them, a 4 point gap is easily cut down to just 1 point in the space of 90 minutes. The big question is is there 2 teams worse than Portsmouth in the football league?

Although it's funny they wont go down, no way they are one of the 2 worst sides in the division

Whilst I didn't share the wild optimism of some Pompey fans, I have to admit I thought they'd be midtable or just below.

I didn't buy into the hype pre-season which tbh, most Portsmouth fans didn't share. It was mostly the media and a few overly optimistic people. I thought, and hoped, we'd be somewhere mid-table and have a season without any relegation worries for once. Fat chance of that.
