I don't see the Mousers doing it. Indeed, I think they'll struggle to stay in the top 4. If we can get Soldado firing, and with Sandro and Townsend fit, we're by far the better side, so ought to take their spot. Chavs have been far too inconsistent. Gunners, well... we've all seen them beginning to bottle the title. I see them battling 'Pool for 4th. And United, whilst I don't see them finishing any higher than 6th this season, know how to beat Arsenal, and there's both Rooney and RVP each vying for a move to a top London club in the Summer, they'll both be on fire. I see a fairly comfortable win for United, if I'm being honest.
I'll go for 1-1 Arse v Utd, the gooners seem to have an inferiority complex when it comes to you guys no matter how poor you're playing.
The difference being they haven't scraped through every victory this season, and have a 33 goal advantage.
Thing is, though, if we were the old 'Pool back in the heyday of Sky's old-guard "Top 4," pundits would be creaming their pants about how well we've picked up points without playing well and especially with all the changes we've had, and they'd all be nursing massive boners predicting how magnificent we'll be when the squad finally clicks.
"The difference being they haven't scraped through every victory this season, and have a 33 goal advantage." GD is worth one point max, 33 or 333. Allegedly playing really great football, and yet ...
It obviously means that we ain't gonna squeak 4th spot on goal difference. We have to get the points...
Or hope that a mass brawl breaks out when Liverpool visit Old Trafford next month which leads to points deductions for both teams...
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/12/arsenal-lukas-podolski-left-bayern-too-soon Arsenal's Lukas Podolski: I left Bayern Munich too soon ⢠Arsenal forward says he should not have left Bayern in 2009 ⢠Gunners play Bayern Munich in Champions League last 16 He was another one who said he would win the title and champions league with Arsenal when he first arrived.
"The mark of a team headed for the Champions League." (BBC Football Live commentator, on 'Pool equalizing at Fulham) That's right, because we are losing at the Toon! I really hate the fact that the media is infested with Mousers and Mouse-lovers. I'd love if we pushed 'Pool into 5th and kept them there, and then force these twats to come onto National TV, naked, to be pelted with rancid vegetables and fruit, before being tarred and feathered, and then set on fire.
Some Chav knobhead on the BBC Football Live dropped a tweet saying "Go on, Mata! Show us why Mourihno sold you to United and score a goal against our title rivals!" and the very next line of commentary reports that Mata has been substituted! Pure comedy gold from the Chav fan, there!
