It could be harder than the last game I'm not gonna lie. :cheesy:

We will get a positive result* though it's the honeymoon period. <ok>

Who's going? We need a big support up there for GM's away debut as the supreme leader.

*Sneaky edit. :cheesy:

Me too Musty, but cling to the hope that Bony will smash one in from distance so we can grab the 3 points.

Got to play well to get anything out of this one though. With their run of horrible fixtures Stoke will be targeting this one as one they expect to get 3 points from and keep them out of trouble.
1 point would be lovely.

Yep, I'll be more than happy with a point. This will be a very hard game.

Should we start with Bony + Emnes again?

If we're on our game I'm very confident we can beat these. <ok>

And if we're not at least smash them! :cheesy:

Stoke are a fairly decent outfit under Hughes. If we can combat the aerial ability of Crouch and the physicality of Walters, we can get something. A point will do me but we will need our new found "spirit" against a team that will offer a whole lot more than Cardiff did.

Stoke are a physical side which doesn't suit Pablo, if fit I'd go for shelvey in attack mid Canas and Britton holding mid, Routledge and dyer on wing with bony upfront.

And if Michu's fit it would be a great sub

No doubt mate, hope Shelvey's back and it would be great to have Canas back at 100%. <ok>

A point would be a very good result.

Let's not forget how quickly things changed after the Fulham win - though I don't think we'll have the same problem, given how it was the nature of the defeat that was the problem at West Ham, not the fact that we lost.

After we scored our first goal you could see the shackles come off and we played good football.Ok i think Stoke will be a different propersition but if we can display the football of the second half i think we should be confident.Liked the look of Emnes in the Michu role

Yeah Pablo sorted it with 2 steps, 1 pass. :cheesy: Then Routs rolled in, slotted it and took all the glory wheeling off in celebration. :cheesy:

This will be a very tough game and wouldn't be surprised to see us lose it by a single goal. If you offered me a draw now I'd gladly accept it!

I think Monk will be targetting a much needed back to back win, so I'm going for a 2-1 to the Mighty Swans, hopefully Michu might come off the bench, but not neccessary, we just need to mark crouch out of the game. What I like about Monk is he's taking one game at a time, and that's a common sense approach, I'm sure our boys will replicate last Saturday's game, where he made history in stopping Cardiff making the first double.............<ok>

Well we haven't achieved it for a long time and if GM breaks this record he can go get a massive canvas of himself, in a suit and place it in his living room. :cheesy:

Any point away from home is a good point but i believe we are a far better side than them and if we can up our game by a notch from the way we played Cardiff then i think we will be too strong for them during the 90 minutes. I will be happy with a point against a team like liverpool but i really think we can get all 3 against stoke. 1-3 swans win...

I like your thinking. By the time SCFC are done with Stoke everyone in Stoke including Phillip the power Taylor the Vale fan will be singing Hymns & Arias and not Delilah*

*May not be true. :cheesy:

The only thing we know for certain is we can support the team. I reckon Garry Monk thinks we're better than Stoke too. <ok>

"They are all big games. Stoke’s even bigger than Cardiff.

“The players have done the first part of the job against Cardiff. This is the bigger of the two in continuing the momentum and showing it wasn’t a one-off.”

In other news Michu may make a sneaky return off the bench, Emnes is fine, and Shelvey is still out.

MATCH FACTS

Stoke City*have lost just one of their last nine Barclays Premier League home matches (W4 D4 L1).

Swansea have lost six of their last nine Barclays Premier League away games (W1 D2 L6).

The Potters have gone five home league games without a clean sheet – this after keeping four in their previous six at the Britannia Stadium.

Peter Crouch has scored three goals in his two previous Premier League appearances against Swansea at the Britannia Stadium.

Swansea have scored just two goals in their last six Premier League away games, despite attempting 47 shots at goal in these six matches.

Charlie Adam has scored in three of his last four Premier League games at the Britannia Stadium.

Overall, Adam has either scored (3) or assisted (3) six of Stoke’s last 11 Premier League goals. He also had the shot that led to Michael Carrick’s own goal against Manchester United during this run.

38 % of*Stoke City’s Premier League goals this season have come from outside the box (10 of 26) – a higher proportion than any other side.

Wilfried Bony has scored eight goals in the Premier League this season, but all eight have come in home matches for Swansea City.

Swansea have the opportunity to win back to back Premier League games in their first two matches under Garry Monk – something that they did not manage to do under Michael Laudrup this season.

swan you can also add...Swans have sacked laudrup and put monk in charge who has gone back to the style of football they are known for...1-3 swans...<laugh>

In all seriousness stoke are better than cardiff and are at home but what i notice about stoke is that if you get in there face and score first they go to pieces, If we can play like we know we can then they wont see that much of the ball and we must use our wings to get the ball in a position to get the ball up to bony/michu who stoke will put more than one player to mark them imo. The part of the game we have to watch out for are set pieces and giving away corners because of the threat of lanky who will be able to out jump any of our players even if they were doubled up one on top of the other....I believe that monk will have stoke down as a target for 3 points and i cant see why we cant get them....well i hope so anyway..
