Rodgers always said that the performance was more important than the result and he think he's right.

Were putting in good performances plus getting the results. Were going in the right direction under Monk.

Very very happy with that performance considering the appalling weather....we were the better team and we looked good. Monk is doing a fantastic job and we look like we can get a result even if we go behind...

Whoever? So if we appointed Dave Jones or Harry Redknapp's dog instead of Monk, it would all be rainbows and cupcakes?

Monk has got our Mojo back - 4 points from 6 and two performances that were leagues ahead of recent form under Laudrup! Garry has got us playing the 'Swansea way' again! Very happy with the point and performance - keep playing like that and we will get the points to keep us up!

Our mojo being back hasn't got anything to do with Hernandez (3 assists in 120 minutes) and Dyer (1 goal and a bright appearance tonight) being back has it?
    Oh, and beatable opposition.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased we're playing well and I think Monk hasn't put a foot wrong yet...just feel some fairness and perspective is in order.

Agree cartoon, Another 10 or so points should be enough this season but i think we will get much more than that the way we are playing again...

Couldn't agree more, trouble with Laudrup was, he was too detached from the club, and had no personality to motivate the players!...........<ok>

And also agree with you Dai - the team are now playing with passion again; the crisp passing is back but more importantly; so is the work off the ball - we are chasing and harrying and working! Monk said he wanted to get back to basics and has got the team playing with passion again! Stick with him for the rest of the season!

Having to endure people walking around Laudrup as if he has nothing to do with this is very difficult but Ill survive with a bit of yoga . Well done to the manager with his undefeated record and well done to "The Team " for getting back in the groove after many injuries .

Terror, I know you say beatable opposition, but our last 2 trips to Stoke have ended 2 = 0 withut ever threatening them. Bigger teams than us have struggled at the Brittania. I see this as a good point. which i dont think we would have got if we had gone there 2 weeks ago. Just my opinion of course.

I'd heard that Stoke had changed under Hughes.

Looked the same to me. Dirty imaginative one-trick ponies. Pump the ball up to Crouch and hope something happens.

Great result and performance we wouldn't have got a couple of weeks ago.

    64% possession, 13 v 7 attempts on goal.

My only disappointment is we had enough chances to win this and probably should have. But if I had been offered a point before the game would have bit your hand off.

Yes. Felt slightly disappointed myself at the end.

Bony should have buried that chance but it's a good sign that we are finally creating good openings for him.

    Trunds,
I see it as a good point also.

I agree we wouldn't have got it 2 weeks ago, but I think that is because we would have had Hernandez and Dyer returning from injury (getting some token minutes off the bench to build up match fitness) as opposed to being able to start them with Routledge in the 3 winger formation that Laudrup first played and I myself was advocating on here (on their return to the first team) approx. 3 weeks ago.

Having these players back makes us much more of an attacking threat...that is undeniable.
Laudrup had the misfortune to have to play a lot of tricky fixtures with an under par (was probably knackered) Routledge with Pozuelo playing out of position on the other wing. His options off the bench were Lamah or asking Vazquez to cover there (who was also covering Bony).

He also had to play our young centre-half Amat in midfield for some of it and was always missing at least 2 of his midfield...meaning Jazz or Pozuelo in CM were the options if he wanted to change things.

He also had Tremmel in goal instead of Vorm, who has proved to be ropey this season.

With these first teamers back I would have been confident of a point away at Stoke under Laudrup....after all we played them off the park at ours only to be robbed by a corrupt referee.

I like to compare apples with apples is all.

Just dug this up from the Fulham match thread

"Very good point about Shelvey in the AM role, I totally agree...would have rather switched him and De Guzman around tonight.
Remember how good Hernandez and Routledge played there, interchanging, against West Brom last November though?
If they can all stay fit I'd like to see the 3 wingers combo again against teams who come to park the bus, they were electric that night. "

Norway's was the next post, he also made the point re: the importance of the returning injured players getting the minutes, building up their confidence and match fitness....commenting on Laudrup's intelligent substitutions.
We are now seeing the benefit of this....unfortunately Laudrup isn't.

I very much doubt we would have got a result at Stoke last night under Laudrup, because he would have started De Guzman while Monk didn't, and he would have had Britton on the bench with Amat being played out of position, sorry but it's fantasy to suggest Laudrup would have got a result, taking into account the way he set us up at West Ham, some need to let go of dipsy Laudrup, great player, poor manager, Monk is proving to be a much more savvy coach!...............<ok>
