Anyone else spy this against Stoke?! He's still got it... DTLW
Yes, saw it LIVE. [Note: the video is no longer available here] You can also see it here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k3XMyV57bWuGNK5p6K0?start=1 at 61 minutes dead on the match clock [not video clock], or you can watch the whole of the second half. Enjoyed that one. I also noted that the linesman had a similar opportunity to demostrate his skills when the ball went out shortly afterwards but got himself out of the way pronto!
Fonte (reported in Echo) says that he feels he is a better player since Mauricio arrived. Says he has learnt so much and is encouraged to be brave and positive and that he is playing the best he ever has this season.
Not as impressive as the matey in the front of the Kingsland North who rose to head the ball when it went out of play.
You mean those ultracompetitive games (at least on one side). He gets hyperexcited, yelling Vamos when he wins, whilst a bemused Shaw stands there going 'Whatever.'
Wow, an ex professional footballer who played international football for Argentina and who is only in his early 40's still has the ability to do a rather simple piece of ball control. Wow, I'm impressed. Oh wow, just saw a bird, in the air, it was flying. Wow.
A lot of managers think they've still got it, whatever their particular it was. Some never had it. I think, by concentrating so hard on trying to be smart, you entirely missed the point. The impression is, is that Poch is sat there or standing there, kicking every ball, and in his heart of hearts, wishing he was still young enough to play competitively. That little demonstration wasn't him showing he still had it, but his enthusiasm taking over. If you look closely, he returns the ball, sits down, and looks a little sheepish about it. And we enjoyed his enthusiasm and skill. Would you rather he fell over some bottles of Lucozade..?
Doesn't show it very well on the video but he sort of pushes another staff member out the way just so he got to show off !
No, he didn't push. He just beat the goalkeeping coach [?] to the ball. In the other video I had links to it showed it all quite well. Sadly, that has been taken down. Wish I'd made a copy. I normally do.
I just saw a similar clip with Sam Allardyce doing some showboating, but the ball ended up on top of the stands. He then turned to his assistant and said "you never lose it".
Who cares? He is a football manager, and only 41. Surely it is not much of a surprise that he can chest a ball down on a touchline. Don't think i'm a miserable git but really it is nothing worth discussing.
I can't help it, it's an addiction. Got hooked by the Nutcracker, now I need at least two doses of Fouetté en tournant a week, or I'm a bloody mess.
