Nowt wrong with Longcroft, in the 80's at least....

Actually the only School in Beverley rated good by Ofsted. Grammar and High both require improvement. Impoosible to change peoples ingrained snobbery about it though

Ofsted probably down-graded them in order for them to become academies! That is happening in other parts of the country. Just like AA they don't like Local Authorities.

O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go.

On the last set of league tables(GCSE results), Beverley High came 4th, Beverley Grammar came 5th and Longcroft came 15th out of East Yorkshire schools.

The top three were Northmoor(Cottingham), Pocklington, then Hull Collegiate.

Yes OLM, but the 3 that you quote are all independent schools, which are fee-paying, so there is no real comparison. Hornsea is also one of the better ones in the East Riding on overall figures.

In fact Hornsea has better GCSE results than both Beverley schools for 2013 according to official figures.

Neither have I. It seems to be an independent school in Dunswell Road, Cottingham, but is non fees, so who goes there is anyone's guess. It did not even appear on the league table that I checked with!!!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a religious school. I forget the denomination, but the females wear little head scarves.

I'm afraid that just isn't true. Longcroft were top five for gcse in the ER discounting private schools. It was above the ER average making being 15th statistically impossible. It was also seventh in the whole of Yorkshire for a level results. The boys results were also better than Bev Grammar

That is from April 2013, so not the last exam year. Old figures not the current ones
