Floods on the roads out of Luton = no one except me shows up for work. So here I am.

Not particularly fantastic but that's mainly because it's a boring job. The whole getting up at 7 thing was easier to get used to than I expected, and I just sleep a lot less now. About 6 hours a night, opposed to the 10-12 that it was during uni. Just need a job that's more interesting and I'm good.
 
I have had good jobs in medical research, but you still have periods of boredom. I have also worked in retail which had its good points...lots of interaction with people...and its bad points...lots of interaction with people :) Knowing what I know now...I wish I had found a job which was also an interest...wouldn't feel like work at all. Depends on your interests of course, but I think (if I had talent for it) I would have liked art restoration, working for something like the National Trust, or gardening. If I stick with my scientific background, I would have liked forensics (closed to women when I started).

My point is that although money helps the world go round...never just work for the money.

Bit of advice Joe . It is FAR easier to go from a job to a job , Whatever you do , don't jack it in , until you have something else .

You do know you don't have to put when you start and finish a job on your CV? All you do have to put is what your job was.

Don't really have much of a choice unless I want to end up on Jobseekers/falling back on my parents. And I intend to support myself.

It does help if you do put dates, because potential employers will want to know one way or another. They'll likely ask you in the interview.
