this is a very interesting situation about calibre of players being brought in. Correct me if I am wrong, but the "swansea way" has not been to go out and spend stupid money and stupid wages on "superstars".

THe biggest asset of our club was not the individuals (which seems to be what is breeding) but the sum of all parts with a teamworking ethic, something which has clearly been lacking (and gradually losing week in week out). Out strengh always has been getting the best out of players who were not utilised in the correct way at previous clubs.

Where has the closing down of opposition players gone high up the pitch? What about the magic triangles that every pundit used to have wet dreams over?
These only worked by working as a complete unit. The sooner the team work as a team, the better off we will be.

I jsut hope that Monk is able to get us back to being a team.

You may well be right, but I've never heard of any player joining any of those teams because of good access to an airport. I can imagine a player at an interview. Chairman and manager tell him what the clubs all about and ask the player if he has any questions. And he asks where the nearest airport is. LOL. I can imagine players joining many of those clubs before Swansea for a variety of reason,s but not because of airport access. Anyway, Heathrow's not exactly difficult to get to from Swansea.

They all played in the 2 legs against Chelsea also. We went through thanks to a fantastic defensive performance. Chico and Ben Davies were immense.

Perhaps you don't think the foreign players consider how easy it is to fly home for a day or 2 at short notice...perhaps the furthest you've ever been is Bridgend, I don't know but consider this;

Well that is true then for all managers since Roberto. Each benefited from the previous manager....and that goes fir dear old Brendan. However your comments regards the cup are utter ****e. Only an idiot would claim ML was not instrumental in our win. If it was all Curtis then why has he not been offered the caretaker role....surely our wonderful board would have rewarded such hard work. As others have said, ML brought in some very influential players that helped bring the win...and he managed to breathe new life into Routledge, something BR failed to do.

I went to Bridgend once. Never again. More depressing than Swansea, and that's bad enough.Yes, I know what you mean about amenities, because I left Swansea because it had nothing. But some players like that. But you think an airport is more imprant to players than it actually is. Swansea's only 3 hours from Heathrow. That's close enough for most people.

Maybe that's the real reason Laudrup left. Huw sacked him because it took him to long to get to Paris and back again. LOL.

LOL. Laudrup has gone, so time for everyone to get over it and move on. Doesn't matter how many times you throw your toys out the pram, he's not coming back. Ever. What's the point of dwelling on it. Big game Saturday, so let's start looking forward to it. Won't be any build-up at this rate. I now have an optimistic outlook. I think we'll stay up, get a new manager and be better next season. No clouds on the horizon.

I've been there twice and can't find anything good to say about it. For footballers, yes it does have a couple of not so bad teams. But apparently that's not what young players want. They want airports and amenities.
