To be fair Long went down pretty easily a couple of times, so we can't really talk about diving. All in all I think it was a pretty well reffed game.
Harper made one significant save all game which was the one from Adebayor just before we scored. From my view it looked a decent save but one of those that looks more impressive than it really is. For all their possession they created nothing. Our front two went through on goal twice each. Boyd nearly won it in stoppage time, Huddlestone's free kick someone should have converted. Jelavic either hit the post or forced a very good save (hard to tell which from my view) from Long's cross. We had way more chances.
I know exactly what you mean. It was one of those where he had to dive to get to it, but was never going to be a goal, so looked hugely impressive.
Not seen any replays yet but watching it at the match it looked like Figgy played their player on for their goal. Davies and rosey had pushed out anyone seen it yet?
I honestly completely missed the build up to that just saw the Spurs player get a touch and smash it in, sounds like Figgy was at fault, but hard to give him too much ****, I think he operated a lot better in a 4-4-2.
Tbh for their goal, I don't think anyone person was at fault. We were slack and fell asleep, the whole team. Then their player miscues a 40 yard shot straight to their player, who turned and finished brilliantly.
Going out on a limb but I say you are wrong. Davies and some others pushed out after the initial shot was blocked, a sa good defence should, Figgy didnt and played him on. All will be revealed soon.........
Long and Jelavic are getting a lot of plaudits as a partnership today. Rightly so, Jelavic was unlucky to score but his work rate shouldn't be overlooked. Was a nuisance all day and hopefully the goals will follow. It's his first prem game for ages!
Have to agree, the Adebayor one was very much central to the goal, but Harper was go the wrong way so it made it look more impressive. I think we created as much if not more clear cut openings than them, they had possession etc.... but i wouldn't say they created more clear cut chances than us. Definately a point gained, but we need to now take this performance and do exactly the same next week.

see im a positive bastard cause i know with the team we have, brady excellled today... my prediction of a win today was a tad off... i love you alll my fellow forum memberssssssss
It was off a City player anyway wasn't it? As you know I'm not a fan of giving offsides from shots/accidental deflections. My complaints are aimed at lady luck for the ball dropping where it did. I don't think anyone did out wrong for that goal.
Yeah, it was a bit of a scabby goal. Unlucky for us, as the our defenders had pushed out to try to block the initial shot from Rose(?). Very satisfied by the performance today. The lads played out their skins- 442 helps Figueroa. Davies & Macca were quality. Great defensively, but lacked the cutting edge upfront. But we created more than usual. So that's a plus. On a sour note, I didn't think Huddlestone wasn't at his best today. I was glad to see the back of Adebayor.
The annoying thing is our defence hasn't made a mistake in 2 games yet we've conceded a goal in each out of pure luck. Palace's was ridiculous; 3 lucky bounces in a row.
You never know what will happen in football. Sometimes your luck's in. We might get a break next week. Can't fault the defence today, Long played well. Jelavic started slowly but became more effective. Still needs to build up match fitness.
