  3. "New Arsenal signing Kim Kallstom is set for a spell on the sidelines with a back injury that was discovered in the medical before he signed on loan from Spartak Moscow.

"The 31-year-old Sweden midfielder sustained the problem on Tuesday while playing football on a beach during Spartak's pre-season tour in Abu Dhabi.

"He informed Arsenal of discomfort upon arriving at the club on Friday but, despite an MRI scan showing no damage, a CT scan found an issue with his back.

"The Arsenal medical team provided manager Arsene Wenger with the prognosis, but it was decided Kallstrom would still join and undergo his rehabilitation with the Gunners.

"He is expected to miss at least Arsenal's next six games, in which they face Crystal Palace, Liverpool twice, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Sunderland.

"Kallstrom did not train with his new team-mates on Friday or Saturday and will briefly return to Sweden and Russia before moving to London and beginning a course of treatment.

"The former Lyon player, Arsenal's only signing in the January transfer window, joined on loan until the end of the season to provide cover for injured midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, plus the suspended Mathieu Flamini."

    That's from AFC itself.

It gets even more farcical. Now, we're being told that Whinger spent big money on bringing in cover for injured players with a player who - no, I'm not making this up, read the ****ing story! - is injured!

Either Whinger has finally completely lost it, or this story is a crock of ****, and the player got injured after his medical, and this story has been put out to help try to prevent AFC looking like a Clown Academy.

My money's on the latter, as much as I'd like to believe the former.

As bad as our own plight might be at this moment in time, there's always Whinger and the hapless Goons to cheer us up!

Pretty hilarious to sign a player injured to cover injuries. The blind professor must see genius in this decision, us mere mortals cannot! <laugh>

  6. "To understand the injury, one must become the wound. Or, buy a player who is crocked."

    Nice one, Whinger! <ok>
You've got the title sewn up, mate.

tsk tsk , hes out for 6 games .

I know that your board doesnt do " long term " decisions ( witness the scrapping of a solid team and buying shed loads of new ones that dont work together ) but even you should realise that 6 games is just . 6 games . not a season .

Man you guys are so short sighted , you have already started talking about selling the players you have just bought .

    dear dear me .

  10. Dutch striker Robin van Persie, 30, could return to Arsenal at the end of the season after being left disillusioned following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson from Manchester United.

Not pulling his weight at United, so he arrogantly believes he can simply waltz back into the Arsenal team.

Sadly, knowing how feckless the Gooners are, they'll welcome him back like a prodigal son, conveniently forgetting how he betrayed them.

    So very sad.

It makes sense surely HAIG. If your trophy cabinet has been unused ever since you've moved into your current stadium then, signing a player who is in possession of a winners medal is a no brainer. And there are plenty of people with no brains in goonland.

What's next? I anticipate him criticising someone for having the media kiss their arse and someone else for being Portuguese.

Wenger admitted he made the signing to cover for your injuries and suspensions. Short sighted? It's a short term signing to cover for a short term problem and he's injured for the period that you'd need him most. It's a balls up by anyone's standards.

Signing Kim Kallstrom was a long term decision? He's on loan for six months, nearly two of which he's injured for! <laugh>

The first game he's available for is today Feb 2nd, their last league game is May 11th so it's more like 3 months, half of which he's injured for.

  18. Just been over to the Gooners' board to see how they are reacting to the undeniable fact that their new stellar signing, brought in to cover short-term injuries, is, himself crocked. Understandably, the mood is pretty subdued, and a lot of Gooners are attempting to pass off the signing as a master-stroke by Whinger.

However, there is one intelligent Gooner who is prepared to break from the herd and call it like it is. He's not someone I'd heard of, which probably means he avoids posting - understandable if he's intelligent, plus he's probably at the age where his balls have actually dropped, so he's going to be somewhat older than the average Gooner poster, over there. Anyway, he wrote this:-

"He can be an amputee but the "Wenger can do no wrong" brigade will find way to make it positive."

    <laugh><laugh>

I like this Gooner! We should invite him over here.

A certain other Gooner - one who's name I am forbidden from writing, for fear that the Universe will implode - has, rather strangely, avoided the entire issue completely, and has resorted to posting his usual garbage on the Gooner's "Laugh at Spur5" thread, where he is throwing his usual tirade of insults at Levy.
