Now I'll get this out of the way now, please don't spam other active boards promoting the site, we wouldn't want it here so we shouldn't dish it out elsewhere.

Right then, to the point.
Much like back when BBC606 was closing down I thought it worthwhile we have a thread to discuss how to promote and grow this board. I've created a official (unofficial) twitter page for us www.twitter.com/Not606F1 which I hope to use to poke some comments to the big players of F1 and F1 broadcasts, hopefully to spark up some interest. I can give out the log in details to trusted members to keep it active if anyones interested.
Are there any boards shutting down that we could promote on?
If you comment on blogs do you subtly mention not606 or have it in your username?
Anyone got any thoughts on how to drum up some interest for March?

Cheers
As its a new year and a fresh start, thought I would bump this thread for any suggestions on how to promote and Improve the F1 board?

2013 may have taken its toll on the amount of traffic we receive

If we're not going to invade other boards (which I agree with).
Maybe get more members via Social Media?
More posts on Facebook and Twitter, those of us that have these accounts, re-tweet/like what this board promotes, get the message out to the world?

Am I right in thinking the twitter account auto-tweets new threads, with a link and suitable hashtags? Just occurred to me that it might not be showing the full range of discussion on here, seeing as we tend to have several threads (ie the rumours ones) that run and run, but only get tweeted out once?

Yup :)
It works off the sites RSS feed and auto posts to twitter with some generic ### fun. Occasionally I repost topics when its race time or somethings happening, but mostly I forget <whistle>

Do you think we should start a welcome thread again for 2014? It worked pretty well last year? An Ice breaking tool for the Lurkers

Probably, we do have many lurkers from time to time :bandit:
Hopefully the BBC will get up some 'comment' stories as the cars are released. Prime advertising space :D
